5 Chaos Terminators, called the Anointed, led by a Single Dual Lightning Clawed champion. Well worth their points in my experience, and work as a real fear weapon, clearing areas simply by their presence, although that may be my opponents fault and not their actual quality.

Yes they are. Even with their monstrous armor, they can still die. With no transports, it's like they are yelling "SHOOT ME FIRST BEFORE I FETHING KILL YOU!"

Yes, footslogging termies are slow and will generally get shot reducing their effectiveness. The role of the squad will also determine the raider for them. For the ranged ones probably the standard land raider, for the assault ones the crusader. Although the redeemer is good for softening up squads in cover as well.

A lot of the time you need transport for them. Try the land raider with lascannon spansoons!

This holds the fewest troops and has schizophrenia. It doesn't know if it wants to be a tank hunter, general purpose gunboat, backfield tank or assault vehicle. Godhammer Land Raiders are cool, but they're not great at anything. Stick Terminators in a Crusader or Redeemer, since you'll want to be getting stuck in and in close range anyway.

actually, Godhammer landraiders are fine if you take PotMS into account. you can fire the HB at infantry with PotMS, and the Lascannons at tanks.

I usually take a Landraider for my shooty terminators, not as a ride, but for the lascannon support. and possably so another squad can jack the ride. the shooty terminators hang back and shoot their clyclone missile launcher.

my Assault Terminators always get a LRC.

I like marshals with cmd squads that have heavy flamers then drop pod them in with some assault terminator support in a drop pod as well and you got some dead bugs (just want to say bugs made me think of flaming some starship troopers bugs) but it could well be any enemy with that combo

Are Landraiders a must even for GK termies and Paladins? I haven't played a game with my GK yet, but I was planning on having them all (10 paladins and 5 termies) deepstrike in.

Gks can get away with footslogging because of Librarians with shrouding. stay in cover and you have a 3+ save vs all those nasty Ap2 weapons.

I am not a fan of Deep Striking my GK terminators. you are too exposed for my tastes.

Actually with a unit of Sternguard, Lysander isn't bad either. True enough he's best for CC, but when he's attached to Sternguard, having the ability to reroll all those misses when shooting can be devastating against most infantry, or even MC units. Best part (at least with this strategy), IMHO, is that he provides CC proficiency with a unit that is otherwise less proficient at it. Sternguard in a Drop Pod quickly become a target, and don't usually go more than 1 round of not seeing CC (at least against an opponent with an above average skill level). With Lysander attached, it would take probably the combined efforts of multiple units to take down the Sternguard and Lysander.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

Rules wise, they are awesome (except for the way storm shields work) but I hate the fact that the shoulders are higher than the heads. This is what killed the awesomeness of the grey knight terminators for me.

Yeah, Terminators with prefered enemy and the choice of a veteran skill with 2 special weapons on 5 guys are CLEARLY average, EVERYONE gets that, right?

Deathwing seem to work better as a footslogging list than a mech list. Target saturation does help. 30 terminator bodies take a lot of killing.

Yeah. I'm not 100% sure they can take termies as both troops and elites in one list though.

Grey Templar wrote:actually, Godhammer landraiders are fine if you take PotMS into account. you can fire the HB at infantry with PotMS, and the Lascannons at tanks.

But then you're probably not using it as an assault vehicle. It just doesn't know what it wants to do!

I wouldn't say a must, but I'd say you should mount them up. Big squads of close combat dudes aren't so scary when you can just get kited and shot at from turn 1.

I run 5 TH/SS termies in a regular land raider (I had one and haven't bought another one) and they have been very succesfull. Yes they've had bad games too but most of the time they kill everything.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

I have a Gk list of 2 Lib (termie armor), 10 termies (2 5man squads) and 5 paladins (one apoth) and run them in 2 crusaders and a standard LR.

I love seeing the look on the opponents face when i just pull out 3 land raiders and say i'm done deploying.
