Hmm...Black Templars...I love terminators something about that 2+ that just makes you feel safe. It doesn't matter what kind as if they are shooty BT Termis are good. If they are CC oriented then BT Termies are OP.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re on a constant Crusade, keeping it real for the Emperor and not bumming around like the other guys. They hate psykers and can’t ally with them. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

I had a squad of 5 TH/SS terminators with Belial tear through an Avatar, Eldrad, 2 Wave Serpents, 2 Guardian Bike Squads, and 3 Dark reaper squads by the end of a game. Yeah. I was laughing (he wasn't).

I personally wouldn't put shooty terminators like grey knights into a raider. I play tested it for a while and found that it is a waste of their ability to move and fire heavy weapons. I love my paladins though.

I certainly like the idea of terminators, a unit walking through a wall of bullets, but what ruins it for me is the fact that everyone and their dog spams TH/SS. Who in god's name thought a +3 inv save would be in anyway fair?

Ask the guy who made it possible for Chaos Chosen in fantasy. He seemed to think it was a good idea
If you aren't familiar with it, when they get the mark of Tzeentch it adds +1 to their ward (invul) save. They get a roll at the start of the game with a high percentage of gaining a 4+ ward and stubborn, due to re-roll shenanigans on a special rules table.
I have to say, Black Templar and Blood Angel termies are great. Definitely my two favorite. HOWEVER-Chaos Marine termies with MOS, half with LCs and the other half with Combi-Meltas are great-they can pop tanks, then when they charge/get charged they'll strike first. Where is the downside?
And to the guy bashing Sam, he's right to be happy asking about the BT termies. They are some of the best termies in the game. Last I checked, LCs that get re-rolls to hit AND wound, AND have furious charge at 43 pts/model is amazing. Calling them "average" is ignorant and insulting his knowledge of the game is troll-worthy behavior. Methinks he's trying to get a handle on the game still, asking these kinds of questions and getting to know every aspect of the game.

Personally I love Terminators, they always seem to do something meaningful in a game, even when I rolled horribly for saves after DS'ing my LC Assault Termi's and lost 5 of 10 to bolt pistols, they held up and slowly killed the Assault Squad that shot them (10 men), a Command Squad with Captain and Chaplain, a Tactical Termi Squad and held up his Dreadnought till the final turn.
I realise this was just good luck balancing the 5 1's i rolled for armour saves against 5 bolt pistol wounds but it was awesome to watch (for me, frustrating to him ).

Love my termies, 11 in a 1k pt game makes them tough to get rid of, especially when they're trying to deal with all the long range fire the rest of the army has. Just not enough firepower to get rid of them, unless my dice are grumpy then they go down like guardsmen.

I like Terminators, but they are the most useless unit I ever field. Never get a kill, always die as soon as they are shot at or get into close combat.

If they're pulling in all the fire, they're doing a job.
And, if they have a TH/SS, they'll do that job for quite a while.
