Honestly for the most part I get kind of sick of the warring in 40k there are some crazy individuals with titles of status or ability or favor, though they attain those by force and strength of will and that's a crazy feat enough. Being that way in a life or death situation is even harder. I like most of the off shoot reasons or ideas. I would most likely join The Exodites honestly which is a weird change for me considering how tech friendly I am but I like there idea of living in the 40k world. I think the only way I would follow war like states is the path of The Shadow Hunter(Striking Scorpion) or The Cry of the Wind(Swooping Hawk) and that would be about it for me. I would only follow that in defense of my home / community though.

With the idea of needing to enact with war would be kind of strange with that cause The Exodites went to the furthest reaches of the galaxy to live which sounds like its far but at the same time I just consider it an area of 'non interest' to the rest of the warring armies and if anything the only thing I would see myself running into is probably Tyranids to be honest. Which sucks cause how do you win against Tyranids with a small community your totally screwed. Unless Biel-tan is around you might have a chance.

I just think its funny how often people ignore the simpler things of 40k there are pirates and mercenaries and all that sure not everyone joins crazy cults or follows of faith things like that it can be a normal state of mind as well not so heroic but it has its options. I always felt some of the best parts of novels were the coming of chaos to the start of a community before its wrecked cause there you actually see everyday like as an everyday person in whatever society is the focal point. I could see myself with Craftworld too at times but I don't like the path's of war much presented by Eldar I find them very gimmicky and not very enduring to an extent. I'm Eldar at heart but the ways of war are none of me, at best I would turn out to be something like Yriel but battlefield orientated which itself is very awkward.

Big Mek, no stress like the Warboss being challenged for your position. You can play with a ton of cool toys, KFF, SAG, Burnas, PKs, make cool machines of death like 'dreds, kanz and stompas. Big Meks throw science at the wall and see if it sticks.

I would be an Eldar. Male or female, I'd spend my days resisting the endless joy provided by constant romantic interaction. And I guess I'd build weapons or something and occasionally take up arms and armor to defend my craftworld.

First I'd say Tau Water Caste, but then I realized Tau only live for about 40-50 years max. So, why not an Ork Mek? I'm already in a Polytechnics High School studying Robotics, I'm sure being a Mekboy is basically the exact same thing, except you get to live forever & ever & ever (until my head gets blown of).

I would be a sanguinaty guard, and fight alongside commander dante. I mean, artificer armor, it's my favorite, I wish all my blood angels had it.

Yeah, but you're a slave who will eventually go insane from the loneliness of knowing all of your former friends are still there, but now lack any discernible personality-- they're just puppets now.

An Ork Mekboy will never be without friends. They're always shedding spores! Even if the old friends got killed, that's okay, new ones will come soon. Hell, you were probably the reason they died, but that's okay. You should have told them the explody shoota doesn't shoot explosions, it explodes when you shoot it. But it was a good laugh!

I would imagine an Ork Warboss would be pretty fun. I have admittedly wondered what it would be like, just riding my Battlewagon through my camp, barking orders at my Boyz and feeling important.

Though really, whatever your status in Ork society, a circus of hilarity is sure to follow. Unless you're a Gretchin. And sometimes even they get a good laugh out of blowing other Grot arms off by firing the Big Gunz when they are still loading it.

Actually, if a grot manages to get to be an assistant to a mek, dok, or boss, they can have a nice life. Probably better than many human lives, especially on Chaos-touched worlds.

That's true.

IIRC Grotsnik's Gretchin have been serving him for years and live quite comfortably, since even before he became the "Mad Dok," and they are in fact the reason he is still alive... And also why he's a fething lunatic.

Wazdakka also has a Gretchin assistant, who cleans and polishes his warbike.

Though, there is of course the possibility your Warboss will sit on you and feed you to a Squig.
