MrH wrote:The majority of the hate comes from the fact CoD is the same game every year with some new skins, new maps and a 5 hour story mode chucked in for good measure. Not to forget the map packs which you're basically forced to buy if you want to play with your friends and the majority of the community (even if the community is mostly 12 year olds swearing down the mic).
I own every CoD game and sure there's been some good ones, but enough is enough, there comes a point where buying another one leaves a bad taste in my mouth. CoD is very much like a sports title now, one is pushed out every year with an updated roster (guns) and not much else. If people are happy to pay £40 + whatever 3/4 map packs cost every year then great, do that, but I've had enough and I want more for my money, which is how a lot of people feel I should imagine.
All I can do is give my opinion and that is BF3 is a step higher than anything I have ever played, that is the truth from someone who isn't a big Battlefield fan to begin with, I went into the alpha without any expectations and I was blown away. The game is far more than just graphics, in fact I was playing it on low the whole time and was still loving it. I will most likely upgrade my GPU just for this game (and Diablo 3 down the road) because it's that good.
Youre missing the fact that there are two different types of CoD made by two different makers. CoD 4 and Modern warfare 2 are the good ones, whereas WaW and Black Ops are some of the worst fps ive ever played. After Black Ops, ill never buy another Treyarch game.
Also, MW3 is the last CoD game coming out.
Personally, I just think that Infinity Ward has a much better rep than alot of other Fps, as well as the fact that they have never dissapointed me with a game. Battlefield, on the other hand,. never made a good game before Bad company.
Obviously my opinions, but something to consider.
PS- is there a demo for BF3 on xbl?

BF has always offered epic multiplayer, and that's what I'm into. Nothing like 64-man maps, peeking over a wall and seeing a couple dozen enemy with tank support coming at you...
The problem with CoD for me has always been that it isn't BF.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyone know if they're bumping it to 128?

Indeed, it's probably a good idea to start saving for a new GPU/PC unless you're packing a beast already.
Im on Xbl, so unneccesary.
As of now though, I dont have the money to get BF3. Ive got 120 set aside for preordering of Space Marine and Rage.
Running a bit low on cash myself thanks to starting this hobby, probably spent around £200 in my first month on supplies and models. I have the cash for Space Marines and BF3, now I just need to find the lolly for a GTX 570 or 580, which won't be easy
The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.
I would have known for sure a couple of months ago, but I've played pretty much nothing but Zombies for so long I can't remember for sure. Speaking of which, the Zombie trailer for MW3 looks like fun.
Just sayin'.

Haters gon' hate.
Ya I also played the BF3 alpha and it was great. The sound was great throughout the time I played it. The graphics and frame rate also kept up. I believe both games will be good in their respective senses, but from already witnessing game play and having the chance to witness first hand demos of actual game play ( I was at E3), I can tell you one thing now, BF3 is going to really shock the gaming community when it hits. I can tell you right now though, console gamers will finally get a taste of what a "true" PCFPS is like for the first time with BF3.
You heard it first from me. By the way I've stated before I do work in the gaming industry. Thats how I got to go to E3. Its just my opinion by the way.

I will rent MW3 for the campaign, but that is it. Maybe I can hold out hope that Infinity Ward will stop putting out the same game over and over again. The engine has been the same for what, the last 4 releases?
May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )
As a PC Gamer/ Xbox gamer, I do have to say, I do enjoy the look on console gamer's faces when they say "Oh my god! What game is that! When did it come out?!"
And my reply is, of course: "Crysis was made in 2007, silly."

Every Normal Man Must Be Tempted At Times To Spit On His Hands, Hoist That Black Flag, And Begin Slitting Throats.
I'm AMPED for MW3 but i'm also jumping Up and DOWN for BF3, I don't know which is going to be better, for Singleplayer MW3 for sure but BFBC2 campaign was kinda Lame... But BF3's multiplayer looks awesome though.

That's a good one. No, it's FAR from the last CoD game coming out. There are likely numerous others currently in the works from numerous studios, not to mention Activision has five potential titles already reserved for websites names.

Or you can have 254 people matches on MAG (end PS3 user elitism) i miss the 360 To many good games coming out for it.
On topic: there's only ever been 2 call of duty games that i have liked and they were World at War and Black Ops. I was only into CoD for the zombies and WW2 gunage

Treyarch killed zombies for me. It was good up until the first black ops dlc when they started adding double hitting and crap like that.

Another reason to hate CoD is that the seervers here in Australia are completely dodgy, even when only playing with 4 people on a green connection and trying to connect to a server was a nightmare. Then when I started playing Bad Company 2 I had zero lag with 24 people and instant connection to every game.
Check amazon. Some times you can score free shipping, and a couple dollars off a brand new game, so you save a couple bucks. I've seen super cheap "used" copies of black ops on amazon that say that the serial will work, wonder if it's worth a shot. I imagine getting a bunk serial counts as items not received and paypal would take the money back.
I'm not sure if serials are region locked, but have you checked places like ebay or amazon MrH? After paying you can usually just opt to get the serial emailed to you, provided you use steam or the like to make that work.
