All I've heard is "MW3 Sucks!" or "BF3 will kill MW3!"

Am I the only one excited for the climax of the MW series?

I'd say you're in a significant minority within the already small minority that is the vocal internet gaming community. There are countless millions who frankly couldn't give a flying feth about it's quality or the story, they just want to be T0tA7 Pr0 L337 again. They probably don't even know what number this will be. So yeah, you're not exactly surrounded by a lot of like-minded people.

Indeed you are not alone, as I myself am excited for MW3.

I BF3 has piqued my interest but MW3 is what I plan to get 1st. Then Space Marine and then maybe BF3.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

I don't think no one likes Call of Duty. I just think a lot of people don't like Call of Duty.

They do right? RIGHT?

I would say that the ONLY thing im excited for is the campaign ending. I didn't even really enjoy the campaign gameplay, but I still need to know what happens in the end.

The reason people aren't excited for it, is because theres nothing to be excited about in relation to multiplayer (where the game gets its biggest fanbase from). Its a clone, and nobody likes a clone

How can it be a clone of itself?

Because Activision killed CoD4 with MW2 and realized that MW2 only got played because no one had anything better to do

Quite easily. It will pretty much be the same as the last few Call of Duty games (which very blatantly haven't changed much themselves), with a re-skin, a few weapon changes maybe, and will be adding a social networking aspect (that you have to pay for). The only real change will be the campaign continuing on.

Im excited, just not as much as some other games.
There are like over 15 different games coming out in the next 4 or 5 months.

I was kinda until I found out that the rumors taht it was gonna be sci-fi were fake.

I'll probably buy it at some point, but mostly for the campaign. Certainly not paying inflated release day prices for it.

Couldn't care less about MW3, it'll just be the same old, same old but with new weapons and maps. If BF3 wasn't coming out soon I'd maybe care a little, but BF3 is just in a different league so why would I eat cat food when I can eat steak?

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.

I'll get it at some point because Im a complete sucker. but otherwies Im really only looking forward to the campaign as I expect GOW 3's multiplayer to be my preference. Maybe Space Marine if its solid.

I really think people are giving that series too much credit. I certainly wasn't impressed by its various games... and BF3 is essentially gonna be a graphics-enhanced version... probably the only improvement would be its animations, which were admittedly nice and smoothe, but I wonder how much, exactly, it would translate into multiplayer.

All I can tell you is I played the BF3 alpha and it was unlike any FPS I've ever played before. The sound is just so immersive it really adds so much to the game, it really brings you into the action. The graphics are obviously fantastic, even on low, the animations are great, the Frostbite 2 engine is far superior to Frostbite 1.5 used in BC2 and makes everything feel so "smooth". I've never been a huge Battlefield fan, but BF3 is the muts nuts and it really feels like a massive step up from any other FPS on the market.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.

I sincerely doubt that it actually changed much in terms of actual gameplay. A game that looks prettier isn't necessarily that different. I'm waiting until I actually play it, myself.

Yep unless if it is modern warfare 3.... its just the same thing but with a different tag on the front.

Where does all the hate for MW3 come from? Bf2 and 3 are basically the same deal too.

Right, what's with the hypocrisy that most BF fanboys seem to show?

The majority of the hate comes from the fact CoD is the same game every year with some new skins, new maps and a 5 hour story mode chucked in for good measure. Not to forget the map packs which you're basically forced to buy if you want to play with your friends and the majority of the community (even if the community is mostly 12 year olds swearing down the mic).

I own every CoD game and sure there's been some good ones, but enough is enough, there comes a point where buying another one leaves a bad taste in my mouth. CoD is very much like a sports title now, one is pushed out every year with an updated roster (guns) and not much else. If people are happy to pay £40 + whatever 3/4 map packs cost every year then great, do that, but I've had enough and I want more for my money, which is how a lot of people feel I should imagine.

All I can do is give my opinion and that is BF3 is a step higher than anything I have ever played, that is the truth from someone who isn't a big Battlefield fan to begin with, I went into the alpha without any expectations and I was blown away. The game is far more than just graphics, in fact I was playing it on low the whole time and was still loving it. I will most likely upgrade my GPU just for this game (and Diablo 3 down the road) because it's that good.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.

If you like that game though, you don't mind it so much.

The "community" for CoD leaves a bit to be desired, but that's pretty easily remedied by either playing with friends or just muting people when they're being particularly obnoxious.

Don't get me wrong, I have put a lot of time into the CoD franchise, but enough is enough. It's not so much that CoD is a bad game, because it's not, it's just stale and boring at this point. Pizza is nice, but if you ate pizza 2 times a day, 7 times a week you'd get bored of it pretty fast.

Fair enough. I really only picked up the series at MW2 so maybe I just haven't had time to get sick of it yet.

Nah I don't play Battlefield, or COD or Halo, I don't play any of them because they are all the same thing to me. Except...
Battlefield has vechiles so does halo. Though both have a less desirable effort to it.
COD doesn't. And just a horrible community.

The BF series has released about as many games and expansion packs. Granted, the BF series has one game and one expansion in sci-fi setting as well as its games in the modern and historical settings, but otherwise the series are quite similar to each other.

It's part of being a long-running series.
