*sigh* And the wait for the Tantalus....continues. :-(

‎"The scions of the Dark City would never admit that the unceasing hunger at their core is what drives them to such heights of cruelty. Instead they maintain that they act only upon their own desires. Some have even managed to convince themselves of this. In truth, unless our cousins in the webway feed upon a constant diet of extreme emotion they will slowly wither away, leaving naught but a soulless husk. We of the Craftworlds deny all such urges, and in doing so become less than ourselves. Perhaps it is those that we left to perish who are the lucky ones." - Spiritseer Iyanna Arienal, Meditations.

18-140" Str ? (really can't read it) AP 4 Ordnance Barrage 3, 5" blast, primary weapon, twin linked, no cover save.

Dude. I was so close in my guess.

Heh. Heavy 3 would be very powerful. Better than some of the existing IG Super Heavy's primary Weapon.

I don't know why they're doing the redacted 'experimental rules' other than, perhaps, because the next IA book is done they don't want to publish something they're about to start selling.

Of course... we don't know how far away IA Apoc II: The Return of the Revenge is... so really what does it matter if people can start using their new models right away? How do they lose anything by publishing these rules in full.

As for the last part, the terminator is basically a smaller version of the dreadnought (tactical dreadnought armor) so I do see a reason for the similarity. Either way, to each his own. People seem to be raving about the turn the Fantasy Ogres have taken in their styling but I find it ugly. Aesthetic preference has no right answer.

I'm not an Apocalypse player, so thanks for the info, I was curious about that.

And, you know, that's a great point. If the argument is that the Contemptor was a precursor not of Dreadnoughts, but of Tactical Dreadnoughts... that kind of makes a lot of sense. Both in the styling, and in the invulnerable saves.

They never explain where current dreads come from either. Heresy artwork never really features them but most have origins dating back to the crusades.

Do you remember that time that thing happened?

I think that's what they're going for. Because I'm sure in other IA's they have talked about how all Dreadnought chassis patterns date back to the great Crusade, but that some were more common that others. I forget the exact wording though, it's in IA2
