Yes you can, infact you have to! the unit entry says it must contain 1-X of each model, so once you have one Ur-Ghul, Sslyth, Medusae and Lhamean you can add more of any type.
Really? That's a bit...odd. And kinda pointless. I mean, the Lhamaen is only really effective in conjunction with poisoned weapons and Ur-ghuls are...weird. I'd rather just have Sslyth and Medusae.

OP:
First, if you're not looking to play Dark Eldar competitively, what advice are you looking for? There are two ways to play 40k.
1. This list is fluffy, fills the niche that I want it to, and remains true to the backstory of canon/BL/codex/personal fluff.
2. This list has the tools to let me be competitive on the tabletop, and I've tweaked it to optimize my strengths in using it.
Netlists get created when someone creates an army list for a given codex and either performs noticeably well with it, eliciting copycat syndrome from other players looking to replicate the same success, or when they are a renowned "internet personality" whose advice is respected and listened to - and people copy/tweak the list for themselves because said internet personality has influenced their decision through one means or another.
Now here, you're not subscribing to #1 or #2. You don't need help creating a fluffy army - those are personal projects. You've advertised that you're not trying to create a competitive army...so you don't require input from competitive players and how they succeed. What then is the purpose of this thread? What do you want? An assault based army? Grab some of the assault units in the codex and put them together however you like. If you're not trying to beat the crap out of your opponent, it doesn't matter what you use. Beast packs, wyches, blood-brides, foot-slogging through webway portals, or mounted and fast....it doesn't matter.
Don't prescribe to trying to avoid popular army builds as if it will make you an outsider or a rebel against the bandwagon. Playing against a weak general fielding an inept army isn't fun. Not even in tournaments when winning is the point.
So again, without you prescribing to a definitive goal, the best I can do for you is this:
1. If you're looking for an assault army, take a look at my signature - there's a link in there to a DE strategy guide, and my Wych Cult is linked there.
2. Don't count out venom spam simply because people use the word "venom spam." Venom spam doesn't win games, or win tournaments. Generalship does, regardless of the list you use. My Necrons have yet to take a dive to anyone except Mike Brandt (Nova Open Organizer) in his basement, before I had Necrons, when we were proxying Monoliths with Whiskey Bottles that I was draining.
3. Dark Eldar are several core and competitive themes, with a multitude of variants springing from those themes.
4. The most cut-throat competitive DE army is a limp noodle in the hands of an inferior general. Dark Eldar are the video game equivalent of "hard mode" for 40k, while their 3+ Space Marine counterparts are "Easy mode."
5. Don't presume that if you copy a DE "netlist" that you will succeed with it....and by the same token, building that army doesn't make you a powergamer.
6. From a competitive standpoint, Reaver Jetbikes suck the big ones. In terms of points, efficiency, purpose, comparative killing ability - they shouldn't be fielded. You may not care.
If you figure out what you're after, and precisely what you want in a Dark Eldar army...if you can cut to the point without meandering down the middle, I'd be happy to help. You'll have to send me a PM though, I rarely read Dakka anymore.

Seeing as -for me- you want two medusae, you can't take the court and put it no a venom. So it is a raider option. I would prefer 4 incubi if you want to spam venoms.

Oh.
This thread seems to have run off without me. I'm new to the forum so I missed how to keep track of the threads I posted in.
Wanted to say thanks Dash. Your guide have been very helpful and made me consider more options for the army.
But for now I will paint and playtest the stuff I have bought, which is about 750p with some raiders, whyches, warriors and reavers. This will give me a feel for how I would like to shape it in the future.

Lycaeus Wrex wrote:MagicJuggler wrote:Personally, if I am using a transport for assault units, I'd rather use a Raider instead. Reasons:
-Duality: DE assault is primarily anti-infantry. So take an AT transport.
-Larger Hull: Can start the game turned to the side then spin for extra movement.
-Relevant upgrades: Prows and Aethersails either let me tankshock blocking infantry out of the way (or prime assaults to go in your favor. Hit a blob in the center, then assault from the sides, knowing your opponent cannot react) or get into the fight faster.
Venoms I prefer for Blaster-toting units. Or occasionally Harlequins if doing ride-jacking shenanigans.
I'm always dubious about whether this is legal or not. It seems a very cheap way to play the system IMO and probably won't be allowed, and definitely won't be looked kindly upon, in many gaming circles.
L. Wrex
It's 100% legal. You are permitted a free pivot prior to physically moving the vehicle. imo it isn't really open for interpretation since it states pretty clearly that you're always allowed to pivot.
Onto the list:
Haemie 50
4xIncubi 110
-Huge Swords?
Venom 65
-Venom Cannon
Wychesx9 109
-Haywire
Raider 70
-Flickerfield
5xWarriors 60
-Blaster
Venom 65
-Splinter cannon
Beast Pack 144
-3xBeastmasters
-4xKymaera
-4xRazorwing
Ravager 105
This is trying to get all the fun DE assault elements while keeping a bit of range present. If you need more anti-tank, just drop the incubi, add a ravager, give the wytches a hekatrix with agonizer and a shardnet, and then add a shattershard/liquifier to the haemie.
Also, +1 to everything Dash said (Minus necrons, they just...... idk this thread isn't for that). anyway, good luck with the dark eldar.

124birds: Funny, i had always been under the impression that with vehicles like the raiders that come with a flying stand, which your supposed to use, you measured distance from the stand itself for movement, not from any point of the hull.

Not sure what your point is. However if the front part of the vehicle protrudes 3" past the stand, and you move 12", pivoting - in effect - can give you a 15" movement + 2" disembark + 1-6" fleet + 6" assault and off the get go, a DE can potentially charge an opponent within 29" of his starting point. If you assume you have a 12" deployment off your edge, that gives you a 41" charge threat.
Bottomline, hug the board edge if you don't want some turn 1 DE assaults.

Doesn't make sense at all. You can't really have the skimmer move sideways. You'd have to pivot it before moving and then move it forward. Then you'd be allowed to pivot it after your movement. But as you're moving in the direction already, it doesn't make sense for you to pivot again.
