My Warp Hunter!
While this is ready to play and I am for the most part content with the paintjob, I really dislike the dragon. If you compare it to some of my older Freehands you'll see why - it's just not as good. However, I desperately wanted to get him done for an Apocalypse game a while back, so I had to rush the paintjob. Someday I'll rework the Dragon.
However, that will most likely take until
a) I have my next Apoc game (wich happens like once a year)
b) I attend a tournament with Forgeworld units permitted (Of wich there's like 2 in Germany, one of wich I am running, the other one too far north for me to feasibly participate :( ) So this guy is done for now. .. ..

Gamewise I adore the Warphunter, the Model is awesome, the rules are superb.

Last, but certainly not least: My Display Base / Display Tray / Army tray thingy

I usually bring this as an army Tray on tournaments - after having used plain dinner trays or McDonalds trays for years. It is actually made out of 3 different terrain pieces I had modelled at some earlier point, added together for this. In the back to the right: A Warpgate, or my interpretation of it. With some Green stuff, one Razorwing-kit, parts from 3 Fireprism- and one Raider kit. Back on the left: A pornstar-actio figurine and a wrestler in Atlas-pose, both with added detail as to conceal nudeness. Front: 2 beams from Fire-Prisms, one of them broken and on the gruond. In the middle: Jenna-Jameson-actio figure. I reduced her breast-size, made her face into a blank slate, dismembered her at every joint before putting her back together and impregnated her with a planet. (In Eldar mythology she would probably be Isha, godess of fertility, procreation and life. - For me personally it's a statement: I adore women and their bodies, and they DO carry the world under their hearts, for without them, none of us would be alive...)

Cool Eldar Terrain - I've been wanting to start an Eldar Terrain Project.. thanks for the inspiration.

Everything is really lovely painted, I was going to pick my favourite but I cant they are all fantastic.

Long Time no update.

I have in the meantime been working on many a thing, expanding my miniature collection, painting stuff, building new terrain...

Among the new stuff I am currently building is an Eldar take on the Fortress of Redemption, Bastion and Aegis Defense Line.

For today, I'll share the bigass Tower wich will belong to my fortress of redemption, eventually. Expect more pictures to follow soon and more regularly, as I have a bigass backlog of stuff I want to take pictures of!

For this one I cut up 2 of my unpainted Serpents (as I figured: I have 11 painted Serpents and about half a dozen unpainted ones, 6th edition does not need Serpents, so I might as well use them for something worthwhile), used about a dozen Dark Eldar Sails, and, as a foundation, I had the lovely girl in a dancy wiggely pose being gifted to me by a dear friend - she always has the nice stuff.

Basis for my Bastion, not yet pictured, was also provided by her - a gothic angel!

Anyhow, enjoy, nd I always feel very encouraged for every comment!

The porn action figures as statues is just friggin brilliant! I might just steal that idea....at least somewhat. LOVE your Eldar as well, the amount of character in your army is just incredible

I was staggered by your Craftworld scenery, the mythical statues look fantastic, and I love the Autumnal colours you've given the scene. I love both your Wraithlords, the one with the sword and the long cloak on the right is my favourite.

Your freehand work is excellent, and looks similar to what I have attempted on my Vypers, but your execution is far better. I'll have to take some inspiration from the small tribal designs to fill up the blank space on my models. I've got an Ulthwe army, and those freehand designs would add a lot to my rather plain models.

Oh, and special mention for the Autarch/Corsair prince. He looks like he's deciding which hapless mook he's going to decapitate next.

The freehand work is incredible. Bright and stark just like Eldar should be. Yet, the terrain is gritty and muted so as to make the rest of the models really stand out. It looks very dynamic and realistic. Fantastic stuff all-around.

Well, my freehands are done in one of several ways, wichever I feel like.


1) I have a color gradient underneath, you know, highlighted and stuff. In that case the freehands are very steady hand. In those cases I also have a simple rule: Wherever there's a mistake... it aint a mistake. One of my art teachers once told me that there's no such thing as erroneous lines. Every brushstroke you do is part of the overall composition and belongs there. So every "mistake" I do with those freehands when my steady hand fails me - turns into another branch of the tribal

2) I I get a one colour background from wich I will highlight later on. I will then draw on the freehand, using both the white and the background colour to correct each other as many times as necessary to receive the desired result.

3) I do the freehand first and everything else later.

4) I do 2), but with decals.

5) I do 1), but with decals.


It's just,... whatever I feel like

So, I got my uncles camera tonight and took some snapshots of what I did in the past five months. The list is not comprehensive, and I got loads more of stuff to take pictures of - but for the moment, it'll have to suffice!

Firstup: My Nightwing, aka Razorwing. I usually have him count as a Razorwing with Disintegrator Cannons <3 Starcannons are magnetized here.




Now, this fether has a base.
Do you see those flowers? DO YOU SEE THEM! Each of them consists of a stem and a blossom. They are seperate. On separate sprues. One has to glue together each individual flower. My god that was some gakky work. But I love the effect!

Now, I also needed some new HQs. Granted, I already had 2 female and one male Farseer... but why not MORE? Maybe with the new codex hitting in June (*fingers crossed*) We'll get back our oldschool Ulthwe-Style Seercouncil with 3+ Farseers in one Unit? One can only dream...

Well, not Eldrad, he is missing the staff (1) and not painted in Ulthwe Colours (2). I use him as a generic Farseer and plan to paint up my other Eldrad Model (with Spear!) in Ulthwe Colours at some later point in time




Last but certainly not Least: Converted Spellsinger!
So she used to be a Woodelves Mage. Then I slapped some armour on that bitch!

I use them either as that, or as Storm-Guardians. Wichever I require at any given Moment. I used some stuff out of my bitbox, because I figured: If I have a Corsair- Eldar- Dark-Eldar and Exodyte-Force, surely there'll be some extreme close combat nuts being cast out of the regular paths and joining up with a Wych cult? Also, I wanted to convert some nice looking close combat units <3

So, I wasn't quite done for today.

Summer last year I was faced with 6th edition. But WAIT there was one more 5th edition tournament I was gonna attend. I had just finished some Eldar Corsairs with pistols and CCweapons and figured: Dem Corsairs need dat Ride! So I looked through my bitbox and found: A Razorwing Fighter and a Falcon, both unassembled, plus some assorted bits. The Idea to merge the DE Fightercraft and the Eldar MBT into one hell of a serpent with BIG FREE SPACES to freehand on was born immediately. So I used the excuse to build one last Grav Tank and decorate it, before 5th Edition was over and 6th meant, that my tanks would go into storage.

So, late March I was en route to a tournament. I had my pseudo Council ready, Baharroth and Sathonyx all painted up and my Farseer ready. Lo and behold, a week before the Tournament started, I looked at their rules and discovered, that they allowed a Fortress of Redemption. Having done the Tower at an earlier point around Christmas I wrote to the Orga and asked them, if I could change my list without penalty, because I DESPERATELY needed an excuse to spend a week painting and scratchbuilding a Fotress of Redemption ELDAR STYLE.
They Agreed.
I got to work.
Turns out, a week was a very generous estimate. With work and university and friends and girlfriend intervening, I had a total of 2 nights to complete the Sucker. Suffice to say, I wrestled that bitch into submission. Result below
