Krox are NOT champions. Not by a long shot

Here's another gem of poor rules.
The FAQ removes great reach.
Then the FAQ goes on...
Q: Can you Stomp or Thunderstomp a unit of Skinks that
contains Kroxigor? (p94)
A: No, a mixed unit has the troop type of Unique.

Ok, so the troop type is now Unique.
Combine these two rules, and Krox in the 2nd rank can only make a single supporting attack. They are now type unique, and monstrous infantry (not unique) allow 3 supporting attacks.

Am I missing something?

It's obvious that's not what GW intended, but it seems to look that way.
