I absolutely love these kans! The weathering, chipping, base metal colors is all perfect. Just how I imagine and want my ork walkers to look. I'm also interested in knowing how you prepared the main metal before you drybushed, washed, weathered and chipped it all up. It looks outstanding.

The heavy weathering is exceptionally well done – nice and grungy like all Orks should be. Awesome designs on the missile heads too, and very well done indeed!

The base for the body was nothing more than a heavy over brushing of bolt gun metal on top of a black primer coat. Some people don't know overbrushing which is just like dry brushing except the brush loaded vs dried. After that it was multiple layers of different washes starting with badab black, then gryphonne sepia, then a black oil wash filter, a common military modeler technique. Then I chipped it, washed it again with oil, applied a rust wash then used a little tamiya weathering master powders on the colored parts. Whew. That was a mouthful.

Isn't it great? I hadn't tried until recently and now I want to scrape up everything, just because I can. As for the rest of the weathering, I think it looks great. Saw the Rust and Dust kit in the MicroMark catalog, but this is the first time I've seen it in action. Seems like it does its job, by the looks of it.

Some beautiful models you got there, and orky too! I'd imagine they can do all kinds of killyness on the TT.
