Just thought I'd show off my Killa Kans Squad I recently completed. I tried some weathering techniques to make them look more realistic. I may have gone overboard with the rust but for Orks I think it really works. The arms were magnetized so I could swap them around and do some fun posing with them.

Hope you like.

Thanks.

I absolutely love them!! Would you be kind enough to share what weathering technique you used. I've got a trukk that needs finishing off, I've got oranges, browns, powders and a stippling brush but I haven't put brush to model yet. I've been too busy painting troops.

What did you use for the metal mesh on the base? It is really fine.

Thanks and very well done.

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.

An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.

Wow, glad you guys like the weathering, it was my first heavy attempt at it. To share my technique, I started with a heavy drybrushing of Boltgun Metal over everything, followed by a badab black wash. The rust effect I used came from MicroMark Rust and Dust kit. Its alcohol based and is a rust brown color. I applied that heavily. After that dried I made up a black oil wash and went over it again to try and simulate oil. The chipping was done with a blister pack sponge ( my new favorite technique btw). The mesh wire I got at Michael's Craft store, its Clay sculptors Mesh used to create an under-structure. I got it specifically for simulating fencing on my bases. The pipes are just a bendy straw cut up into pieces. I used some Vallejo pigments for the base as well as Tamiya Weathering Master powders.

They look really terrific. "Realistically" filthy and dirty. I also love the spiral on the missile, that must have been tough to do with such a thin line.
