Only really interesting in respect to the effect it will have on the quad core market (££).

Considering there isn't much in the software department that can even come close to utilizing the full potential of an I7, and there aren't currently any games or video cards that require anything more then an I5 I don't see it having much of an effect on the market. Especially since AMD processors have historically been the least efficent when compaired by efficency per cycle...

But Bulldozer is supposed to change that with its new architecture, right?

I assume he's a mini or a smaller standard, then? Full size standards can reach 28 lbs depending on body size.

TBone is a "mini" - 8-9 lb of near toothless old man rage. He's fine unless you cross him, then there's heck to pay.
Rodney is a "tweener." Per the vet he should be about 14-15 lb. However he has the former stray's tendency to want to lay around, combined with the ability to eat things he finds that would make a billy goat puke.
In contrast Rusty Tiger is 80lb of old caucasian mountain dog. When its 20 degrees and windy, and the dog is panting, you know this dog is well insulated.

I was disappointed.

I was also disappointed. Though I thought it odd that a company like AMD would be manufacturing bulldozers suddenly.

Thats the rumor.. My thoughts on the subject are slightly different. Usually when a company releases a long awaited game changing product they release demo units to various 3rd party sites and let them put it through its paces. Bulldozer is going to release soon and there are no reviews, if anyone has gotten their hands on an early chip they aren't allowed to talk about it... In my mind they would only do this if something didn't live up to expectations.

I'll stick with my I7 and wait patiently for games to catch up with it.

There was a time, way back in the day when AMD offered hands down the best performance for the $, unfortunatly AMDs current offerings are being beaten by Intels budget and entry level processors. If you look through AMD's current line there aren't many that can out preform an I3 and fewer still that can out preform an I5.

If by computer literate you mean able to operate a computer, then yes.

If you mean caring about anything other than whether it works, then no.

Indeed. Thats what underlings and tech support are for.

That's why they do things like charging an exuberant amount of cash to do something like plug in a cable and not call you a dumbass while trying to explain that the magic box does need to be turned on to work.

Actually no. Their salaries are not...exuberant.

I get paid exuberant amounts of cash as well. It's not a lot, but it is always enthusiastic and exciting.

I think we should first get the definition of exuberant right.

Man, I've been saying that since I got my q6600; which I'm still using. I did refresh the video card since I got it but the cpu is still going strong.

Hah, "Good money". Come work in IT; you'll have all the expected availability of a surgeon, and all the respect and pay of a janitor, I say.
