@ Warboss Gutrip ; thank you, suggestion noted. I originally placed them with a white//bone face-mask but they felt a little too similar to my Guardians. Will consider for all future models though! I think a touch more highlighting around the edge of the face-mask will 'pop' it a little more.

@ Brother-Captain Scotti ; thanks chap!

Love the paint scheme. i am just starting my army and would like to get the same feeling of color and movement you have found. Would like to see a close up of your wraithlord. also your harliquins the start looked awesome. thanks for the inspiration for the Altansar Craftworld.

Pleasure!

I'm afraid that I won't be showing any Wraithlords yet, the one that I have done I feel somewhat ashamed by.

Good luck with the craftworld! I am finding Altansar a really gem to paint.

Sorry for the double-post!

Small update: I've entered one of those 'slow' phases where painting takes some motivation to do, rather than an urge. I've been working slowly on a group of new Fire Dragons, begun trying out a fresh paint scheme on a Warp Spider* and started the slow slog of finishing out all of my previous Guardians to match the newer batch that I did. Also have two more Warlocks on their way to me via post. Pictures to arrive shortly, no doubt!

Cheers.

* Does anyone else find Warp Spiders terribly frustrating to paint?

@Eirikr

Yes, they are very very frustrating. Keep at it though.

Small update.

Working on a squad of new Fire Dragons to finish out my tank-hunters and melta-extraordinairres.

And mixed in with the rest of my OOP.

I have three more to paint up, plus Exarch. That will finish off this unit for good (beyond the small details that may need picking out!) Damnable SLR cameras always show out the errors in paintwork, always.

I love how the black armor blends into red at the top. It's a subtle and tasteful way of marking them as Fire Dragons. And, as ever, the little touches of purple are just awesome. Keep up the good work!

I think it needs a little more zip. It's kinda all brown right now... Maybe on the weapons or the backpack...

Status update;

Skyrim hath sucked up all of my spare time in recent weeks. I'll be honest and say that I've barely picked up a paintbrush or looked at GW since release...

However! I have some lined up in varying states of readiness - hope to get the majority done by the end of this weekend.

1) War-Walker, complete except for mounted weapons
2) Three new Warlocks
3) Two platforms in state of redux
4) Wraithlord primed and ready to roll...

Not Bad, just needs a little more color to contrast the brown.

Looks good but it's a little hard to make out the details. Maybe more lighting would help?

From what I can see: everything looks fine, except perhaps the sword. Again, it may be the photo, but it looks very lifeless (or too similar to the rest of the model). I think highlighting the edges would go a long way, or a different color if you're feeling adventurous. Anything to make it stand out more.

Great work! I am not usually a fan of red, but your work looks great. I think that if some of the dark brown on the warp spider (especially the torso) was changed to a red, (say similar to your harlequin) it might tie them into your army more, and also make the model pop on the tabletop! Great look!

Thank you! I shall have some new photos to come up shortly. Work has been slow the past month or so due to real-life, christmas and Skyrim but... I have made some progress on a couple of characters.

The white faces on the Warlocks/Farseer look really excellent, adds some really nice 'pop'. Well done!

Gemstones on the warlocks look great. Why does one of the warlocks have a black face, and all the other ones have a white face?

@ Sparks_Havelock;

Thanks chap! It wouldn't be the same without your valuable advice on TS.

@ bobthehero;

Cheers chap!

@Warboss Gutrip;

Thank you.

@ Aeroroot;

Well; initially they all had a black faceplate but shifted it over to white for the pop-factor. I was reluctant to do the transition on that particular warlock though as I was really happy with the black highlighting.

@ Iranna;

Thank you! I think I have seen some of your work? Either it was corsair-heavy or conversion-heavy? Thank you though, all the same!

Your temptation of Slaanesh just lured me into your thread lol.

I'm really loving the way you painted the warlock robes they look great and the CSM is very nice. Purple isn't an easy colour to paint and I think you've done it justice.
