So if the Q click their fingers and all sentient beings dissapear, then this means they also dissapear?
As long as the Q are alive, then the Chaos Gods cannot lose because there would still be emotions to feed on. (the emotions of the Q, if they have any...)
If the Q zap all sentient beings, then that means they zap themselves I presume and therefore, nobody would win.
Also, they could not click their fingers and make the Chaos Gods dissapear because they have no experience manipulating the warp according to the wikipedia reference. This is an inherent difficulty with cross universe comparisons of course.
I've never seen Star Trek so i may be all wrong, and feel free to tell me so, but I'm just trying to look at the question logically.

There's no right or wrong answer, because as it is with all cross-universe contests, neither faction is created with the other in mind, so it's mostly guesswork and supposition.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

The Q continuum=basically the Infinity circuit.
Eldar still fear the chaos gods.

Well they would erase the being in their universe, but the scenario was the Chaos Gods enter the Star Trek-verse, so they still have the power of 40k.

I was referring to previous posts where people were saying that the Q would click their fingers and every sentient being would be erased, thereby defeating the chaos Gods and pointing out the flaw in that idea.

I know. I just remembered that I hadn't said my reason why it wouldn't work yet, and it was your thing that reminded me.

Q limits are only the ones they place on them selves, Chaos has limitations based on the need for admirers, and a need of the warp for survival.
Easy one for the Q.

The Gods can't die though, and the Q can. And with each Q that dies, the Continuum weakens.
Also, this scenario is the Chaos Gods breeching the star trek verse. Their supporters in 40k would continue to feed them, while the Q wouldn't be able to affect those in 40k. Meaning the Chaos Gods have unlimited supply of power.
Plus, as I already said, the Q continuum is basically a lot like the Infinity Circuit. Yet Eldar still fear the gods.

Except only weapons made by a Q can kill a Q. How do the Chaos Gods get them? Meanwhile, the Q can travel through time. Time travel>no time travel, 100 % of the time.

I can see it now, the Q go back to before the war in heaven ever started and stop it from happening = chaos is never born.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Why do you guys debate on a post that is almost 3 months old? And space and time don't matter in the Warp, at least not like in our universe.

They win by possessing the Q, of course. Q may have nigh-unlimited power, but they're just as susceptible to mental influences as anyone else is; Qs feel emotions just like humans. They can't destroy the Chaos Gods without destroying themselves, which means that (assuming contact could be made at all) the war would immediately become a race between the Chaos Gods corrupting and possessing some of the Q and learning exactly how to kill them (at which point the Q continuum is fethed) and the Qs realizing how dangerous the Chaos Gods are and then managing to cut off contact somehow; with, of course, no guarantee that Chaos couldn't force it open again at some later time, or find another way.
Basically, one side has a way to kill the other, and their enemies don't. The best the Qs could possibly accomplish is a draw; temporary and fragile, if they seal the Trek-universe off from the 40k-verse, or permanent but only at the cost of annihilating all life in the Trek-verse and leaving the Chaos Gods no reason to go there.

I linked it because someone introduced Q into it. I just wanted to help because that particular thing was explained in it.
Because you didn't bother to see date of the last comment but instead choose to comment yourself you have no one to blame but yourself. :p

Q only has as much power as the Continuum allow him (it?). At their choosing he can have those powers stripped.
Their powers are god-like but not infinite.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
