Wait, how could Dune win? Their technology and military doesn't seem to be quite as advanced.

Well, ok, they have the fremen, but wouldn't the SM be able to take of those?

And I guess the shields could stop the bolts and lasguns...but what about CC weapons and mind powers?

With the Death Star. Something they have only manufactured twice.

Their ships travel trough the galaxy in hours or at most days.

True, which makes them superior from a logistical standpoint.

Their weapons have a yield of several gigatons if we go by some of the material shown on screen and planetary shields which can withstand dozens of ships with hundreds of such weapons.

Gigatons, while impressive, I'm not convinced that even matches a single Deathstrike Missile. A Nova Cannon has a yield equivelant to a dozen of said warheads apparently.

The Death Star takes an obscene amount of resources to build, but given those resources, they would really have no problem building another in a few years; the Death Star 2 took less than 5 years to be mostly operational, and that was much bigger than the first.

This is huge. One of the main reasons the Galactic Empire is far superior to the Galactic Federation from Star Trek (Not as a place to live, obviously) is the relative differences in speed. An Imperial attack would happen in one area before the Federation can rally resources to handle another. The other reason is firepower, which I'm convinced the Galactic Empire doesn't beat the Imperium in other than the Death Star.

Halo Array, targets and destroys all sentient life in the galaxy. If they've activated the Ark, can even activate it from elsewhere.

Covenant or *okay*, but a regular nuke can take out a ship, as can a planetary defense railgun. A lance shot would tear them apart, especially since all of their weapons are energy-based (plasma), and void shields can defend against that, IIRC.

I'd go with the Reapers.

I'd go with the Reapers.

Knowing the imperium they would send a naval vessel and set up their warp drives to overload towards the halo array and the halo array is gone, so there goes that.

The Covenant would lose the imperium of man has energy weapons and rail weapons, and void missiles. The Covenant is screwed

Reapers could lose because the imperium's of man's ships are the same size as a reaper. Except there are hundreds of thousands of the Imperium of man.

Except Reapers would still give on hell of a fight.

Oh well.

Rofl anyway all the sci-fi ones i have mentioned will win.
Goku and just about anything in dragon ball z, except krillin wins. (All the super powered ones.)

Doctor Who wins automatically because he is awesome.

Death Star got blown up by a bunch of teenagers. end of discussion.

This is what happens. Vader comes and fights Rowboat Girlyman (he's alive in this hypothetical), while thousands upon thousands of IG fight the Republic's troops, and SM's vs. Jedis. And then, Q, from Star Trek, sees how dumb both universes are, and ends them all.

Long story short, don't mash up different works. It gets dumb.

If you eat enough worm-gak, you can become god-like. They win. Plus they have the 200km long worms.

No, because Paul Atrides was called the God-Emperor. Sound familiar?

That...is a good point. But was he as powerful as the WH40k emperor? Maybe it is only the names that are similar.
I know that Paul was a powerful clairvoyent, but could he mind-blast people out of existance as well? I don't recall him being able to that.

Idk, only read the first few dune books. I'll google his powers.

Also, in Dune, he rules multiple galaxies, so...multiple times all of 40k.

Necrons might qualify, or, as the rest of my post mentions, if they Activate the Ark, they can activate it from outside the galaxy. Then move in afterwards.

You know, a Covenant Ark is probably a Traditional Necron's idea of the perfect weapon. Achieves all their goals in one second.

Green Lantern Corps would stomp the Imperium.

Galactus would be unstoppable as would the Silver Surfer and Thanos.

Although these are from comics, they are still sci fi based.

The Reapers would probably take the Imperium down. Difficult to compare because we have very little facts about them, but their tech level is much higher, maybe on par with the Necrons.

I would be inclined to disagree, honestly.

We have seen one Reaper be killed by weaponry that pales before 40k weaponry.

What do they have that rivals Iori Delta Tove?

Galactus would show the Tyranids how a real man eats planets.

Galactus is cheating though. At his full power he can eat the universe. Even starving he can destroy multiple star systems casually.

Uh, wat? You can't compare them. The only examples of Mass Effect weaponry being used are on a Reaper, which required two entire fleets to destroy, and that's whilst the Reaper's shields and weapons were inactive. The second was when the Normandy destroyed a Collector ship in two hits from it's main cannon. The Reapers are far more advanced than the Imperium is in terms of technology. They're able to create technology that allows near instant travel between systems, they can genetically engineer on levels far and above the Imperium. They can even create space stations in the Galactic Core. We can compare them with the Necrons on their tech level, and even why they exist (the old Necrons anyway). Every 50,000 years they destroy the dominant race in the galaxy. Sovereign says their numbers are enough to blot out the skies of every world.

Could the Zerg from Starcraft stand a chance? They are a lot like Nids, but they have a gakload of flyers, they can fly through space just like that and they're led by a ridiculously powerful psyker.

Timelords and Daleks could do it too, but people keep saying they don't count so...

What about the Elder Gods? Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth and all those? Do they count?

Thomas Covenant and his ring?

Spoiler:
He almost destroys TWO universes without even noticing.
