Back to the drawing board. I was going to put a few Land Raidersd against them in a test run but no point when he has 10 other suits to come!

So is it one unit or can you take as many different units (that can't combine to form one unit) as possible?

Well, that's easy to beat with any fast vehicle. Just lead you around the battlefield with one, while the others blast away.

Going to be hard to do that with 4 units of DC that can move 12" and assault 6" for very long.

I will get into assault range very quickly. Even needing 6's to hit, assuming a full unit makes it, I would get 20 6's. Enough to kill any fast vehicle out there.

I have 3+ and 4+ feel no pain. Dakka isn't so great vs DC. You are not going to be able to throw enough hi ap shots to kill them all. There is 120 DC to begin with.

I would take my chances with my 'death star unit'.

The Sanguinor.
A Storm Raven w/ MM, Ascannon, HBolters, Extra armor, teleport armour
Librarian w/ Plasma pistol, Epistolary, Fear the Darkness, Might of Hero's

The Honor guard, Reclusiarch and Libby go in the stormraven, who will shoot up to their target, MM something, use the teleport homer to call in the Sanguinor, who gives and ADDITIONAL Attack to the unit as they assault something. They go at S5, Int 5, with Perfered enemy, +D3 attacks, +1 from the banner, +1 from Sang., +1 for the charge, +1 for two weapons and 2 attacks base. That's 9-7 attacks on the charge with rerolling to hit power weapons.

How about the coverage I get from the OTHER 3 units of DC? Were are no longer talking one on one anymore.

There is only so far you can go. 120 DC will cover lots of the board with 12" move and 6" assault.

I only need to get 8% of them within 18" to kill your fast vehicle on average. Less if they come from lemartes unit.

The original intent was to get 'one combined unit'.

Since that has been thrown out, I still think that Astaroth and 120 DC are the most hardcore 'unit'.

You know what's scary? BA DC still crushes this without even blinking.

Until I see someone come up with a list that has better than 360 (480 on the charge) str8 (str9 on the charge) no armor save attacks at WS5 that are jump infantry...

This should eventually take down your DCs. In theory. Maybe. With less than 1000 points. Would be easier if I would use that extra Heavy Support slot I have there for another Ravager... that also would make it 995 points!

The thing about those death company... is they are I1 with 1 wound and no invulnerable save, if I'm not mistaken. So yes, they wreck vehicles, and if they can survive the blows someone else dishes out, they win. But what about an army that dishes out even more attacks, ignores your armour / FnP, and does it at normal initiative...?

Only totaling 1650 points. Not bad really, probably wouldn't beat out the 11,000+ points of Deathcompany, but I have a feeling they would be one hell of a thorn in your side considering the amount of punishment they can dish out with shooting, and once combat does begin, they are putting out (with all Hammerhands activated, Quicksilver, and Might of Titan, and if you charged me...) 39 S10 Force weapons (all activated, thanks to the brotherhood banner), and 3 S10 non-forceweapons (banner bearer) that deal 2d6 penetration against vehicles (goodbye tanks) all at Initiative 10, oh, and lets not forget the psycho-troke grenades... or the guys scattered in there with 2+ invulnerable saves, everything is FnP, Stealth, automatically gets a 6+ cover save. If terrain is available I can bolster defense WITH stealth, while I unleash torrents from the OSRs and psycannons. Like I said, I doubt it could actually win against some of these lists just by shear weight of points, but it'd be one hell of a thorn in your side

It's a good representation of the 'death star unit'.

However, since the parameters have changed, it's no longer 'tech'ed' enough.
