I promised my wife I would finally go, even if I don't wanna. I said part of the condition is that IF I can find warhammer there, I am gonna go play. I am sure there is lots to see, but not being a big drinker and doing no drugs, plus hating trance and dance music and hippies, there is only so much of Burning Man I can take. Warhammer might be a decent escape for a couple minutes. Plus, 70k people there? Gotta be SOMEONE who plays.
Have fun with the wife?

Ah, thunderdome! I have some friends that actively participate/help run that. I get to hear all the wonderful stories of the rubes who walk in and come out holding their butts.
I would love to go to Burning Man one day.

Good luck finding a game or having fun without being blitzed out of your mind on any particular substance.
I've been to an official burning man event and I wasn't impressed. Everyone stood around dressed (or not) in weird ways and hardly anyone socialized. The girl I was with (my roommate at the time) got sidetracked with a group who got her really, really high and wanted to do nasty things with her, which for the record I have no problem with, but she was the one driving and I don't care what she says, but she wasn't just high. Classy. They pressed despite her repeat no's and I swooped in to get her sobered up. Most of the people seemed rude and pretentious and barely anyone danced, except as some sort of esoteric art piece. It just... wasn't fun for me. To each their own I suppose.

It's a sad day when a bunch of pervs puts Cann off of his depravity.
To the OP, just load a Winnebago with Ale, warhams and buckshot. Put the Mrs on a longish leash and let her go and get arty with the arty types, then set up camp do some painting and keep the crusts at bay with the occasional broadside.
I'd be down with the hippy chicks, but that could be fun too.

I highly discourage you from bringing warhams. My wifes jeep still has traces of playa dust in it 10 years later. I can only imagine what would happen to figs.

That's what I was thinking too. The OP should look up some of dust storm pics.

For a first post, that's a good one. Hi there.
But, for a three-years-dead thread, expect very few replies.

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
