When is the world eaters book coming out? That's what I want the most. Maybe more primarch vs primarch battles, I would like to see some sort of chaos god interaction, like how they became patrons of each legion, and I would like to see the battle of terra of course.

Oh, and if maybe a whole book of sanguinius fighting the megabloodthirster outside the emperors palace or whatever. Yeah a whole book.

Angron all the way.

I think it was more of a case of them getting bored

Book wise I would maybe like to see things that made the Horus Heresy happen as it did and why some Primarchs chose to side with Horus. Maybe how they were touched by Chaos in their pods during their trip in the warp, maybe some of the conversations they had that created rivalries. Dulan between the Lion and Russ, the Dorn and Night Haunter incident and Dorn and Perturabo.

I would like to read about the uprising on Olympia that pushed Perturabo over the edge.

Also why the Night Lords were included in the Istvaan Retribution force after they had gone rogue.

No pity, no remorse, no shoes

If you want tedious and self-regarding 'fictional history' I'm sure Star Trek or Star Wars have piles of pricey hardback chronologies, technical manuals and other such crap for you. Warhammer 40,000 has never been that kind of setting.

The HH is tedious.

I've read all the SW novels up until Episode 1 came out. Star Trek... I don't read the books but I've seen every episode of every series and all the movies.

Warhammer 40k is a stagnant setting. I'd be nice to see some great revelations in the HH series. Instead we have to put up with boring subject matter that is mostly irrelevant.

I would have like to have seen 25 books. One based on the life of each Primarch, 3 on the Battle for Terra, one about the aftermath and a final book that would tell the life story of the Emperor.

Personally I don't care about the Mechanicus, Assassins, Custodes and all that. They aren't major players in the Myths of 40k. More like interesting side characters like Whimpy in Pop-eye.

The Imperium isn't just Space marines you know. Despite the fact they are the poster boys and very popular.

You know that would only have been twenty three books, right? And a book about the life of Alpharius would just ruin him for me. Same with the Emperor, he's meant to be a mysterious godhead.

There are 20 primarchs... 21 if you count Alpha/Omega.

20+3+1+1=25

Math is fun.

I'm assuming that this was directed to my comment.

I thought we were discussing the Horus Heresy. It's a space marine story through and through.

I guess if you disregard half of the Mechanicum lending its considerable power to Horus and forming the Dark Mechanicum.

It is the symbolism that makes this passage so brilliant, also the references to the Siege of Terra later in the chapter.

I could go on and on about my problems with the books or what I'd like to see but I don't feel like droning on for hours. In general I just want to read about the battleat Terra. Nothing else in the Horus Heresy interests me. Unless they reveal the 2 other primarchs, Then I might be interested.

It is better that they never are revealed, their whole purpose in the background is the mystery of their tragedy.

I would really like to see more information on the Iron Warriors, I can relate to Pertuarbo and would like to see his fall. We also know hardly any information at all on Mortarian. Why did he give in to despair, to seek a sympathic figure like Papa Nurgle? There would have to be various events in his life that would emotionally scar him, and the workings of his mind have not nearly been delved into enough as a character. Out of all the Primarchs, he should be on par with Curze in his complexity. Nurgle is IMO the deepest of the Chaos Gods and Mortarion has not had a decent reason to follow him in the background as of yet.

I would say I am more excited about the idea of a Iron Warriors book more than one for World Eaters. Both are interesting chapters, but I feel like Iron Warriors would have some interesting details to flesh out, while World Eaters will probably be a 400 page description of varying degrees of rage.

Really just a story of guardsmen that fight alongside the Astartes would be really interesting. Give it a different perspective.

I don't subscribe to this idea of 1 for every Legion thoughts, i've seen on the forums. The Imperium is huge, so to limit the HH series to just SM's is a bit of narrow view of huge event.

I would like to see a book more along the lines of the Imperial Guard, I loved the sections in the book about the Alpha Legion focusing on Human Troops.

Also, a book for every legion would mean a book for the Ultramarines, and they played such a major part in the Heresy...

They just didn't fight at the Battle of Terra or get slaughtered at Istvaan. They've always had a part in the Horus Heresy storyline. The Dark Angels original fluff for the Heresy was that there were no records of them fighting on either side. At least the Ultramarines were originally credited with destroying a large force of Horus's reinforcements.

I'd honestly like to see even one HH author remember the Imperial Army. Just one book where they do, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

NEVER SIR, I REPEAT NEVER.....

On the Imperial Guard, I think one of the original Terran Regiments from the Unification Wars would make an interesting subject, maybe on a campaign with a Techguard Army with an Ordinatus and a Company of Baneblades, all the kit that is rare in 40k should be abundant in 30k.
