Personally, I'd like to see;
- HQ & lesser Elites options for Libby & Chaplain. (or else fix the 6th ed rules to include upto 3-4 HQ's in any list)

- better psychic powers. Most are ho-hum while a couple are 'epic win', let's see something other than 2-3 no-brainers please!

- Stormraven! If only because I want one for my White Scars I'm just starting... (call me selfish, but I think it fits the theme pretty well!)

- Equiment costed appropriately. Storm shields are a bit pet peeve of mine... Cost them like the BA book or else drop them to 4++ so they're not such an easy choice on everything that can take them.

- Rhino/Razorback combo kit. Plus give me back my option for the multi-melta turret please! (I converted 2 of 'em for my old salamanders army, now they're useless!)

- Give predators the option for heavy flamer sponsons. (again, I converted one for my sallies, too bad I can't use it anymore...)

- New Veterans plastic kit. Add options like say 1x power toy, 1x power fist, 1x pair of lightning claws, 2x plasma pistol, 1x heavy flamer, 3x combi-weapons (one of each), 5x bolter arm sets, 5x pistol/ccw arm sets, 4-5 chapter specific shoulder pads (smurfs, scars, sallies, raven guard, fists) per box.
Sure it'll be one of those annoyingly must have 5-man boxes which leaves you with tonnes of extra bits, but I'd buy at least 3 or 4 myself because they'd be packed full of epic-awsome-sauce!

- Less focus on "Ultramarines are THE BEST space marines and everyone wants to be just like them!" please. Dorn wasn't a blind sheep and Russ used Girlyman's book to wipe his arse!

I'd be happy with that honestly. Codex marines are pretty fleshed out as it is, it'd be nice if GW would look at the 6th ed book as a chance to polish the army and fix-up the glaring goofs while giving back a few of the older options to open up more themed play. (ie: more pyromaniac love for the Sallies & an Iron Hands named character!)

Chapter Traits or Special Rules, much like 4th ed. This HQ chapter tactics-trade is nonsense seeing as your just playing Vanilla Marines unless you take that character. They've done it before so I don't think it'd be too much to ask for, especially since itd be for first foundings/prominent Chapters (Although BT are given their own book so pretty much first founding)

Space Marines will get something for free and cheaper points without losing any stats unlike other armies that became cheaper but lost some stats. (If not in the codex, it will be in the rule book then. First they became faster when everyone was a standard 6" move. Then they get run for free while others had to pay for fleet. Then they get grenades for free)

SM will have the "EASY BUTTON" to play with. It will be a non thinking mans army. By that I don't mean you are an idiot to play with, but will be genaric, Jack of all Trades, masters of none, so any one can get into it. It will be the NEWBIES army again.

I think a few new toys will be added. Some new rules to make them a bit more "resliliant" since I think mech will be nerfed a bit now. I think they maybe become more SW Strong. Also more more bigger army so more minis are sold.

I don't think Terminators will become troops, but have options for wound allocations rediculous, unless they get rid of that in 6th edition.

The "Jack of all trades" aspect of Marines what I like about them so much, and I think they are one of the best armies to represent their fluff.

I agree. The 5th ed codex focused WAY too much on my Ultramarines. After I read my chapter's fluff, I wanted to read more of the other chapters, but it wasn't that long. The next book shouldn't have an Ultramarines exclusive section of the fluff. If "vanilla" marines are truly supposed to be a general purpose army with different specializations available, the next codex needs to better represent that.

Just as an example (its the one I know the most about): DA can't take a LR redeemer, thunderfire cannons, vanguard, sternguard, ironclad dreads etc. If that happens again. *sigh*

Nor can Codex: Space Wolves (well, except for the Redeemer), and they seem to be doing fine. Sometimes, different armies are just that-- different.

They'd have Chapter specific rules maybe.

30 characters.
You would like to see 30 characters.
You are insane.

I think the solution here is to let you take options with generic HQ choices that let you represent them being Imperial Fists or what have you. Keep the existing special characters, and give more options to the generic HQ choices to make them more viable while keeping with the chapter options.

It already is merged. The merged kit is the Razorback kit. The Rhino kit is just there to sucker people who don't know.

Well, they're space marines so...

/anti-marine vitriol on

I'm expecting...

Librarian-to-board-edge insta-death psychic power
Random buff to ATSKNF
Dreadnaught squadrons
Landraider squadrons
Predator squadrons
Vindicator squadrons
Whirlwind squadrons
Marine general rule that lets them seize the initiative on a 4+

Also some "buffs" to the release schedule...

New marine codex announcement for Raven Guard
New marine codex announcement for the Salamanders
New marine codex announcement for the iron Hands
New marine codex announcement for the White Scars

All at the very least.

No...I'm not bitter...

/vitriol off

More seriously...

More Chapter-specific special characters with FOC-changes to represent more chapters.
Price re-balancing to keep vanilla marines competitive with SWs and GKs.

I'm kinda hoping they force tac squads to take the full 5 extra marines to get a heavy weapon, and start devastators with 2 heavies instead of 4 and give another heavy weapon per 2 extra marines bought.
Also, no more free spotlights if I had my way.
Maybe a small discount on hand-carried AT weapons to help counter the mech meta..

Wake. Rise. Destroy. Conquer.
We have done so once. We will do so again.

No more free spotlights? Really? No more free upgrade that nobody in their right mind would pay points for, considering it's only used on one turn of one third of deployments? And they do force tac Marines to go to 10 to get a heavy weapon. You can't even get a flamer unless you're at 10 men. Melta guns are already 5 points, they shouldn't be cheaper.

3-4... per chapter? Assuming you mean the Legion chapters (Iron Hands, Salamanders etc), that's around 21 characters. Most of which will never get played.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

Rhino/Razorback combi-kit would be the thing of dreams.

Plastic librarians/chaplains.

Plastic sternguard/vanguard kit. I'm rather jealous of Dark Angels veterans having a plastic kit.

No free spotlights? Really? I really don't see them breaking the game. Oh, wait, you play Necrons. Imotehk. Never mind.

But that doesn't come with the closed, flat roof for a rhino. If it came with that, then bam, combi-kit. Just one piece.

Yes it does. The normal hatch is included with all vehicles that use the Rhino chassis, so that would be:

Rhino
Razorback
Predator
Whirlwind

Look at this sprue: http://bitzbarn.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_72_421&products_id=2138

Notice the two hatch pieces near the treads?

Twin-linked heavy weapons on a mobile platform as an option for techmarines. Or as a point defense weapon with bs 2 or 3.
