The tesla proved its worth to me.

Lucky Dice rolls really prove nothing. 20 Shots should generally give 6 additional hits + the 14 that should hit. Gives 20 which wound on a 3+, knocking it down to 14 wounds Killing maybe 5 after a 3+ armor save. Not exact math just using my head. If you rolled poor would you think they're terrible?

I'm more of a fan of Gauss personally due to being able to double tap. Stick a Relentless guy in there and shoot at the 24 in range and you'll slightly underperform tesla at 12.1-24" however 12" or less Gauss will shine.

And it better, because what the gauss doesn't kill in under 12", will be shooting back and then getting into CC where your immortals WILL die, or at best, be a tarpit

When your tesla's fail vs certain units, or even if they get trigger happy. Some units will still be able to assault you at your 20ish" safety range... And you'll have killed less that the gauss.

Have fun getting charged!

because immortals with a 24" gun are immune to charging....oh wait they arent'

yall act like because its assault 1 24" you can kite models around endlessly. Thats nice in a fantasy gamer mind world but not really the case during actual game play.

have fun not ignoring Dark Eldar/IG/Scout/Tau/Necron/Ork/Eldar Armor with your tesla weapons.

I would rather fire10 gaks and then 20 shots from 10 guys that are ap 4 once in a tournament at a charging unit then have 2-3 rounds of firing 10 shots that wont ignore their armor. Guess what 2 rounds of fire from the blasters = the shots you will probably get off with the tesla carbines.

If your going to put a tremmy in the unit as well from the crypteks then this works even better, you can hover at the 12" range even with relative security, you can do this at 24 but its fun to have it at close range, plus at 24 you can stand still

- Tesla AP - has NO chance against vehicles (if glance its on a -3). Gauss will reliably strip a vehicle after a bit of shooting and could wreck it with luck shooting.

Why use immortals for tank hunting?
Seems more than counter productive as they are not tank hunters by any means.
Use specific units for specific roles, multi-purpose basic units fail at both.

Overall there is one situation where tesla will shine and its tenuous at best (since if your taking an overlord, hes probably babysitting, and might as well babysit a gauss unit). In every other situation tesla takes a back seat.

Erm, ok.....
Horde.
2+, 3+, 5+, 6+ saves.
The ability to have more firepower at range.
The ability to move and fire at range.

I see plenty of things that tesla has over gauss.

While I agree with you, gauss is better at 5+ and 6+ save as well since it ignores armor (granted if your worried about boys with a 6+ save your doing it wrong...)

I think the Tesla would be better agaist MEQ because they are going to get the armour save anyways, so the chance at getting some extra hits is a great thing to me.

And I also think Tesla would be better vs Hordes because they are usualy so dug into cover, that the armour save they get is null anyways, so the extra hits is worth it over then AP

One reason for me to take Gauss Blasters would be to swat speeders like the little bugs they are
