I like running 2 sorcerers a lvl 2 and 4.
I like tz on my casters and discs are awesome you get them out of the way fast and where they need to be.

I find a lord isn't needed since he takes up a lot of points an warriors can handle themselves in cc.

2 knight units get pricey I would say 1 will do.

Hellcannons are awesome I have run them as sigles and doubles and ya they just destroy units.

I think I'm going to check out the Dark Elves book.
The other army that I have always liked the look of is Wood Elves.
The Orcs are also something I would consider.

WE are a little hard to play because their book is quite old but they have some really nice models.

DE are fun lots of shooting and magic and hydra

All it takes is a lvl 2 fire ball and that thing dies or Warriors with halberds and flaming banner. They are pretty good tho.

I looked at the Dark Elves, and I think I will go WoC, because I want something different then Dark Eldar.

Sh! Hydras are scary! And usually they arrive as far from flames as possible...
DE require more finesse than WoC as elves die in a stiff breeze. WoC are unfortunately similar to Spess Mahreens in my opinion as they will plough through most enemy units in a round of combat or two depending on dice and marks.

That is why I am making a Dark Eldar army for 40K.
But I want an army that I won't always be thinking a few turns ahead, and I can just charge in and kill stuff

Chaos Dwarves use magic for starters. They have a bunch of funky weaponry, loads of interesting warmachines and tough killy troops. Basically M3 Chaos Warriors

Where is the army book at? I don't see a Chaos Dwarves army on the GW website.

its in the book section. its called Tamurkan.

The models are avaliable from forge world.

Ok, I have seen the Chaos Dwarves on the FW website, but did not know if that was the only place to get them.

Very true.

The los is a big deal so is measuring anything you want at any time for any reason.

Knowing distances is nice.

Not in WFB... want to check a distance, just measure it. Everything from ranges to whether your opponent is adding a couple of inches in the movement phase.
