Though it would be cool to have a condensed weapon one, i.e one for all bolters, one for plasma/melta, then tank weapons etc.

That is what the wargear cards are for.

What do you mean by a blank template? If you mean a template with no stats in it, that`s exactly what I'm providing. I would get into too much trouble with GW if I was to do otherwise and I don't want to. Anyhow, there are too many variations in units and list to do otherwise. And I do respect the IP of GW.

When using the landscape vehicle card, it was rotated 45 degrees in the print preview, overlapping under other cards that were in normal portrait view. Is this something that can be fixed or prevented on my end?

Yes I get the same problem.

I had not noticed you had updated the vehicle cards to include the HP. Thank you.

Any chance for Psyker cards? Not to recreate the ones sold by GW but to make your own Codex Psyker cards to go with them.

Type 2

I'd like to have cards for my Space Wolves Codex powers. I know my son would like some for his Eldar.

For the Psychic ones I would probably just use the preexisting Magic cards. It would look rather appropriate, and I'm pretty sure it would be easy to pick card colors to fit the schools of magic.

I actually did something similar for the last tournament I played in: using the MSE to make Warlord Powers cards. It would be trivial for someone to do that with Psychic Powers as well. Hell, I might, just to have a set with some interesting art.

Looks really cool and you did a great job, didn't want to deal with all the crap just to download it though.

i like the third one in the OP.

I play WMH as well and it is a bit more skirmashy than 40k but thats because its more like a super fancy chess board than a wargame to me. A single freakin pawn can checkmate you if you get cocky enough and go "Ha i cant lose now!" and make you lose. However you can have multiple models of the same type if they arent a character (i.e. named, such as Janissa Stonetide or Rok, a Dire Troll with an axe) and you just mark on the card to say which one this card represents. And since you have a vastly lower model count, you can personalize each model extensively and still have a fully painted army to field relatively easy. I tweaked one of my Axers to hold his axe different so they arent the same model.

This would be very nice since unless its your everyday troop or elite you always take, you tend to space out something (i keep forgetting wtf the range on my grot guns are for some reason lol) and if your opponent has a question, hand them th card.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Love the idea. The convenience of stat cards is nice in warmahordes...might have to try it in 40k

These are great, and a wonderful idea. I will be making a set for my new armies. I just would like to know how to make a back for them,

I started work on something similar a year or so ago:

Blank Front / Back
Spoiler:
Examples of various cards with backs for my armies.
Spoiler:
They're MTG/Pokemon sized, so by printing the front + back and slotting them into a clear card sleeve around a pokemon / mtg card, you get a decent, and really cheap stat card.
A seperate set of Weapon Summary cards make for quick, easy reference too.

It helps you, as much as your opponent, plus things like flipping the cards when you've moved, then flipping them back up when shot, then over again when assaulting, helps keep track of things if you have a lot of scattered units.

I do like yours though, and may experiment doing mine in a similar style.
I just couldn't be bothered to learn how to code MSE

This idea is absolutely fantastic. Unbeknownst to me that other games had already put ref. cards to use, I had thought of the idea quite some time ago
on my own and wondered, even then, why it hadn't been in use ala 40k.

Wonderful Templates; I completely forgot about the idea until this thread, too. But, now I don't have to go back and make my own

EDIT: nvm.. I got it to work

Its an interesting idea. I just don't see it being practical. I allready know the stats and special rules for my units. There is no real need to have these cards. Yes it works for warmahordes as they are you hit point tracker and spell list and what not. Crappy game by the way. IMHO.

I guess if you need them to remember then this is a pretty good way to go about it.

You may know them, but *I* don't.

Not a big fan of memorizing army lists in a minute before a game. I'd love to have a card that said "HEY YOU, theres a fething powerfist in this unit! Sincerely - your opponent"

Edit: Ghaz should have 5+ in his invuln box mate.

Nice work!

I've always wondered why GW hasn't taken the plunge on reference card materials.

I know i'd buy them, and i know i'm not alone on that either.

Thank you for the marvelous set of cards. You've inspired my work on a Bad Moons and Space Wolves set.
I'm working with 5 x 7's to make the tabletop tutorial friendly.
I liked how 2nd Ed. had large landscape unit cards, so I'm working on a fluffy throwback.

Just saw these for the first time. I downloaded the magic set program, but I dont see how people are custom creating cards? I've played MTG for 18 years now and would love to be able to keep the image, but I was wondering how you guys are using it to create custom images. Or are you using another program?

It's not a photo editor, just a layout tool. Just grab a pic you like from your camera/hard drive/scanner/internet and drop it onto the card. There are some sizing and cropping options, but no paint tools.

hey meleck! I want to first say thanks for making these and sharing them. I have a slight problem though. I cant seem the get anything to work besides the wargear card and even that will only let me use the one basic card design and not any of the different styles. when I try to open the standard cards it just freezes the program. Do you happen to have any idea what I may be doing wrong? All I did when I download the program was copy and paste the files into the MSE program file. I am not that computer savvy when it comes to this stuff so I am not sure if that was the correct way to do it. Thanks in advance!

I don't see that there is anything wrong. It's particularly strange that one card works but the others don't. I've never encountered that error.
Are you using MSE version 2.0?
Are the files in the data folder?
Have you installed the font included in the ZIP file?

I look forward to 40k getting the Warscroll treatment.

Looking up the Ork Decurion rules, to look for the Ghazghkull rules to look up his warlord trait to figure out the train of how to make your army fearless is dumb. AoS is a huge success in everything I need to know is on one page for a unit. Having special rules that reference special rules in an era where X-wing outsells everything is the way of the dinosaur/Old-man gaming.

As normal I never finish anything. However....

These are made to look like the Data Cards that came in the First Strike box starter set. Black & White as to not waste any coloured ink.

They are made for 5"x8" blank index cards and are form filled so you can type what you want into them. There is also a layer of detachment symbols that you can turn on and off.

Read more about them and the link to get them on my pathetic blog here

Can't seem to get images to show up.
