Off-topic: What is that Molson with the gold label called? I know you can't get it in the US, and the label is in French(iirc)...and it's delicious
I apologize for all of Canada when people associate Molson Canadian with good beer, it's crap. Try the following: Tree Breweries (BC interior), Philips Breweries(Vancouver Island), Granville Island (Vancouver), Unibroue - they make ridiculously strong beer (9%) (Quebec)
Well, thanks for the suggestion, but I think it's a decent beer - all a matter of opinion, ya know? I'm still looking for that specific kind, though
You're completely right and I wasn't meaning to insult your tastes, meerly that Molson does not produce the best that we have to offer is all. I will take a stab around the liquor store this weekend and see if I can find out what it is. I thought it might be like Molson select or something, but I don't drink it.
Another note, you have some amazing breweries down south, particularily in Oregon! Mirror Pond Pale Ale is AMAZING!
There's also a bacon infused beer from the south somewhere, don't remember what that is.

Thanks, I'll have to check those out ....Rogue is another great company from Oregon! I really reccomend their Dead Guy Ale (it's a little expensive though)

Big fan of Dead Guy Ale, it's delicious. There's a couple really great pubs/tap houses here in Vancouver that have it and I can get it in singles at the BC Liquor Store. I'm planning a trip to Portland next year and I want to do at least 2 brewery tours in Oregon while I'm there.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.
Dang..we need to redouble our effort of amercaniztion of the UK....actually isn't UK bacon similiar to canadian?

I am terribly confused by this poll, and the discussion that has followed.
Personally, I like both types of bacon. This was not an option.
I also lived in Canada for awhile, and when you go to a diner and order bacon, you get what we americans call "canadian bacon" aka ham like stuff. If in the same diner you order back bacon, you get the bacon you are used to in the USA.
So let's refresh
Canada - Back bacon = USA - Bacon
Canada - Bacon = USA - Canadian Bacon/ham
I much prefer my bacon to come from pigs rather than Canadians.

I live in Saudi.
If I want Bacon (of any type) I need to smuggle it in.
I've tried Beef Bacon and Turkey Bacon.
While both are ok, they're not a patch on the real stuff.
If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it. item 87, skippys list

My mate got some American beer imported but he reconed that it was weaker than the stuff we get down here in the hillz (NZ), or the valleyz (Wales).

Ok im not sure what the bacon situation is like over in America or Canada but this is what Australian (and im assuming New Zealand) bacon looks like. What would you guys call it?
A lot more delecious meat and less fat. The round/oval meaty part, also known as the "eye" is about 13-15cm long and depending on luck can be about 4mm thick. Frys up great.
Vulcan wrote:Personally, I think there is room for both on a pizza.
I once tried ordering a bacon and Canadian bacon pizza, they gave me ham. Then I tried asking for double bacon (had a 2-topping special) and they didn't actually give me more bacon. I resigned myself to living with the bacon-and-ham pizza through college.
Personally, I swear by middle bacon: Heavy on the meat, heavy on the fat, light on the wallet!

I get offcuts of cooking bacon, tastes the same but because its not in neat slices you get a large amount for a fraction of the price.
Offcuts don't mean offal.

That would be bacon in Britain. I'm unsure as to what Canadian bacon looks like. It's not streaky bacon, which I think Americans call bacon.

This looks like a combination of the two. Canadian Bacon = Back Bacon = Ham(basically) and this looks like a little of both. And it looks absolutely delicious.

Real bacon is 26 times better than Turkey bacon. You answered your own question.

and yes, Oregon is a beer heaven. You could spend a week going to all the brewpubs in Portland alone
I want to make some of these? Did you do this yourself and if so how? I would think wrap bacon around a chopstick and go from there. Suggestions?
