That's true, the front page of York Herald usually reads things like "York mother loses 12lbs" or "Cathedral closed due to bats"

Whereas when we lived in LA it was "ten die in downtown shoot-out" or "Crack dealer stabs mother in throat at mall"

I think I would rather live with the former than the latter, but YMMV eh?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Depends on how cheap you want to be able to buy crack readily at all hours ( and if you prefer a country that actually sells toothpaste).

Good point, we import toothpaste from overseas.

I got some from Saudi Arabia, but it tasted of dates? Maybe that's why we don't like brushing our teeth.

It makes for better reading though, LA is never dull, I heard gun-shots on my first night at her moms house. She tried to pass it off as a car backfiring, but then a stray round fizzed through the patio and hit me in the knee.

You didn't karate chop her mom did you? Grabbed the lamp and try to engage the enemy down a smooth lamp side sight post? Flip the couch over and hunker down in you fighting position?

seriously though...still have that kneecap? or was a good crack on the bone amounting to verbal usage of the colorful sort?

It hit the shrapnel that was already lodged in there and ricocheted back outside, I lost track of it at that point.

Been a long time since I've seen an actual Anti Aircraft gun. What system are you refering to?

Okay they are using ground to air missiles. Still seems a bit rash to shoot down aircraft over the east end...
Why, who would miss East End?

Almost all the security work is being done by MI5 behind the scenes, this is partly a distraction measure and partly for putting on a show on the world stage.

Exactly. It's a show to reassure the USA.

It doesn't do any harm to have some soldiers around the place in case someone cuts up rough about the Zil lanes, but if you really want to stop car bombers and so on you need a few porters from Glasgow Airport.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Yes, they are fething serious. If you have a passenger aircraft hijacked and starts heading towards a spot where tens of thousands of people have decided to hang out then a quarter million dollar missile, a passenger plane, and a few hundred on the plane and resulting splat on the ground on the ground is the path of least resistance.

I think he was meaning you would shoot down a plane over an extremely densely populated city, the seat of or financial institutions and government, during a massive worldwide sporting event?

Sure, as a last resort, certainly, but there are other measures that should, and probably will be, in place to prevent this kind of situation from ever happening.

The fact that I dont immediatly dismiss this as ludicrous probably says something...
