If I had to choose a battle, as ME in it I would choose Armageddon as a guardsman( lots places to hide( take cover I mean  ) or if I was a member of the race in question, an ork( no specified battle because the universe is a battle for the orks  )

Well if I were able to choose from the Horus Heresy I'd be Guardsman Ollanius Pius - see if I have the balls to stand in the way of Horus for the Emperor.
But for the 41st Millenium? I'd probably go with being an Ork during the Second War for Armageddon, and why not? Big fight against the respected humie Commissar Yarrick - what more could an Ork ask for?

Either. The Black Templars demonstrate the Tau's complete weakness in close combat (not to mention their cowardice for disdaining it instead of trying to improve on it), while the Ultramarines show that even in ranged, properly-led Astartes can defeat the Tau. The only things I see that can fight Astartes on even terms (or something close to it) are CSM and Aspect Warriors.
