Hi all, lots of pictures for you today. The new painting and modeling table, the captain with some more purity seals and more bulk, the nice new powerfist weilding death company marine, and as I thought I had better include something thats not grey plastic, a model plane that got me first place in a competition a while back. It was the only time I have ever used an airbrush.

C&C appreciated

cheers, Ben

Looking good. Death company mightn't work so well for the Lamnter's fluff as they suffer neither from the black rage nor the red thirst. Also, wouldn't desert bases have been cheapest?
1.Walk to beach with spade and bucket
2.Collect sand
3.Walk home
4.Glue sand to base, paint.
Only the glue and paint cost money, see?

I got the thunder hammer and arms from the death company kit, its jam-packed with lots of nifty little things like that

Actually, lamenters have had a reduced number, but they still suffer from the black rage and red thirst (I Think) Also sand bases..... meh. way too cliche

. The Lamenters are a Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels created during the Cursed 21st Founding, and seem to have eliminated the gene-seed Flaws known as the Black Rage and the Red Thirst through unknown means, but this secret cure may have been lost along with the Chapter.

Guess you could find an excuse. Sand bases may be cliche, but sand can also be used to make snow, tundra, wastelwnd and ash-plains bases. All the same, it looks very good, and I wasn't critisising your basing choice, merely pointing out that sand would be cheaper.

Oh, well they have been out of contact for ages anyway so its not been a permenant solution (or I already have 10 and I am not willing to give up 430pts)

Blood Angels Codex, Page 54, Lamenters wrote: "...the Lamenters have reportedly claimed the ability to cure their flawed gene-seed, though if anything the Chapter has undergone marked degeneration since the discovery, raising severe doubts as to the efectiveness of the 'cure'."

They can have Death Company!

Also, at the time of the Badab War, the Lamenters most certainly suffered from both curses. Even if someone wants to claim they are fully cured now, just play a historical army. Hah. Also, it is rumoured that Chapter Master Malakim Phoros, who was pretty close to succumbing at the time of the Badab War, was not actually dead, but instead survived and now leads a small force of Lamenters who escaped. Most probably closely allied or absorbed by the Red Corsairs, but still some fun to be had with that idea.

Further, an option I have long considered, even since before the Badab books, is to have the chapter slightly splintered. Have a codex faction who have used the cure and a BA faction who cling to the old ways, and play both armies, but with different codex books.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Fluff all aside , the DC is a good option to consider when playing with a BA codex. You could use any chapter codex. I've seen SM armies proxiy alot. At tourneys you see alot of proxy SW armies.

As long as your opponent knows what your using and your models can be identified as such. it's all good.

The several Lamenter players I know have all gone with their own version of theme ( both in painting and lists) Have fun - do your own thing.
