My vote goes for Malal. He is just superduper cool!

There is a name whispered quietly and with fear even by the most depraved, the most evil, and the least sane of the worshippers of Chaos. That name is Malal, the Renegade God of Chaos. Any man who dares look within the unholy black pages of The Great Book of Despair, that foul tome held sacred by worshippers of Chaos, would find the following words: "...and he that went before now came last, and that which was white and black and all direction was thrown against itself. Grown mightily indignant at the words of the Gods, Malal did turn his heart against them and flee into the chambers of space . . . And no man looked to Malal then, save those that serve that which they hate, who smile upon their misfortune, and who bear no love save for the damned. At such times as a warrior's heart turns to Malal, all Gods of Chaos grow fearful, and the laughter of the Outcast God fills the tomb of space . . ."

And i don't care, for me, he is still part of the fluff !

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Define "best".

While I like slaanesh, the trophy in my mind goes to khorne.

Slaanesh is defeated by discipline. That and if khorne killed everybody, then no one would feel anything.

Nurgle is defeated by khorne straight away. Kill the host, kill the disease. Khorne's version of entropy is much more expedient and straightforward.

Tzeentch is a sham god, even in the best of time. Whenever something happens, he swoops in and says "I meant for that to happen". Vague prophecies do not win against chain axes.

The only way to beat khorne is not to fight. That's never going to happen when you're being brutally slaughtered.

He can get laid any time he wants - he has a captive elf-babe goddess on hand, and as he's father of all disease he has to work on STD's sometime...

Aside from captive elves, I was referring to STDs as to why Nurgle wins over Slaanesh any day of the week. As Nurgle is the god of decay and pestilence, all things eventually fall to his domain, because everything breaks down and is eventually destroyed or overtaken.

Slaanesh is a weakling compared to the others. Khorne is the mightiest, Tzeentch is the most cunning, and Nurgle is the eldest. Nurgle is the greatest IMO because nothing can escape death and decay, and he is the closest god to mortals, embodying the will to live and refusal to just give and die. And I wonder if Slaanesh is angry that the prettiest goddess in the warp is currently 'living in' with Grandfather Nurgle.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

@Tadashi: Where did you get this from? I was under the impression that Khorne/Tzeentch/Nurgle were all the same age, with Slaanesh being the youngest.
and Nurgle is the eldest.

For the poll, I voted Khorne. Blood for the Blood God!!!
If you read some of the older fluff, Khorne is a lot more than just blind bloody murder.

The first three achieved sentience more or less the same time, but Nurgle was forming in the warp long before Khorne and Tzeentch, since his power comes from the will to live, something that exists even without sentience. I think I got this from the Lost and the Damned, not sure. Will look it up.

Nope, Nurgle is still the best, since by rotting things away even the most carefully plotted plan goes south..."May my flesh fester in death, and gove birth to life anew...for Nurgle".

Having seen & suffered the stench from ill/rotting human bodies (I used to work in a newsagent shop in a hospital*), Nurgle is most definitly not for me by any stretch of the imagination. I just can't stomach the nastiness that is the human body rotting and suffering - turns my stomach thinking about it and it confuses me why anyone would even like that sort of thing - do a google search to look at rotting bodies and that will cure any interest you had in Nurgle.

Personally I go with Slaanesh - pleasure, enjoyment, overloading the sensations with wonderous joys and, ultimately, the eternal quest for perfection in everything - art, food, music, sensations and everything that can be sampled and enjoyed.

*Patients used to come down to the shop to get sweets & stuff and some of them - urgh so hard to serve them without being violently ill at the smell and visual problems with their bodies. Yick! How medical staff manage to sort them out I don't know.
