Studded shoulder pad? that layering looks like the one for karosan (White scares dude) in the evey metal toutorail! The level of painting done there is exerlant!

What do you mean by studded shoulder pad? They are both normal on this mk of armour.

I have decided to paint over that weathering and keep them clean for now, possibly weather them later.

Really nice work so far! I'll be interested to see how this progresses. You must have a heck of a lot of patience to work up from black. I think you should go easy on the weathering, but that's just my personal taste!

On a side note, (and forgive my ignorance) but are those FW bodies true scale, or close to true scale?

I have decided that the weathering didn't really do it for me either so I am going to tone it down a little. FW models are normal scale maybe a tadge bigger but not true scale.

Cool, Btw I like you new stig pic but the wave keep's going into the eye!

I know the blingee pictures thing is a little crude, I could put more effort in but it just isn't in me at the moment.

So toned down the battle damage and put it on the whole model now, here are some WIP pics;

Yeah i think the toned down battle damage is much better, i think your right, before it was a little much, but looks perfect now Your marine has asked me to ask you for a head though, he was most insistent.

Body flying in space! Liking the layering reaper! Its looking very effective!

You had to bring them up didn't you reaper. =p Ever since i saw them an hour ago i've been trying to forget how awesome they are, and i don't even collect space marines!

Just ordered them! OOOhhhh! I am so excited they look so sweeeeet!

I'm not sure if I like them or not, so I expect them painted up ASAP!

Looking forward to seeing some Termies appear, Reaper! I have been ooh'ing and aah'ing over them too for my Emperor's Children. However, I'm going to await the forthcoming Chaos codex in the summer before spending heavily on FW troops.

In the mean time, some MK.V Assault troops shall be bought! Have you any assault troops lined up or already done, Reaper?

Anywho; great job on the update! I'm going to start painting and building my Marines seperately in pieces now too. Purple really pops out any untouched part of the model, no matter how well hidden it is!

I have got 5 MKV assault marines but not built them yet, I also have 5 MKII assault marines to build.

So long time since I have updated this blog, been working on the Necrons and my Demon entry for this year (that crawls on slowly!). So my marine has a head and two arms! Thought I would upload a pic before I get on to the shoulder pads and the base.



Clearly still a WIP but you get the idea, I also have to paint the bolter of course! C&C is welcome, I'm not sure about leaving so much of the helmet off white/grey but it seems to work in the flesh/resin.

Like that marine alot.

I really like that marine looks excellent, I love the way you do your white.

It does take a while to work up from black to white but I think it is worth it. The photo doesn't show the true extent to which he is white the earlier shots of the body are a better representation of the true colour. Thanks GiraffeX!

So did a little more this evening, got some shoulder pads done! They are a nightmare to glue on they just don't fit well.
