Thats how I view the hobby. I enjoy all aspects in all honesty, but based on the time I commit to it, thats the order.

In order?

1. a) Modeling - especially conversions.
1. b) Fluff - most important but modeling is more enjoyable.
2. Painting - i like the end result, i'm learning to enjoy the process.
3. Playing - rarely happens but it's nice to see the models out 'on display.'

So it all really hinges on the model for me. Build it, Write it, Paint it, Present it.

Well for a while now I have been collecting an army (Orks) but have actually only recently been painting and using them. I have recently started playing with a few friends (only 2 games so far) but it's giving me alot more incentive to paint them up.

Fascinating stuff. I'm INFP myself, but I can see the line of reasoning here.

Casual play is giving in to competitive play, but not that either will dominate my time.

I enjoy painting on occasion, but rarely have the time.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Not a big painter, but I love putting my stuff together. I really like the fluff of the universe; I own a crap ton of Black Library books. Social gaming is what got me into the hobby, and I still love it.

And tho I have now played in three non-competitive tournaments (and thoroughly enjoyed it), I still have no desire to play competitively. My opinion is such that competitive play detracts from the hobby.

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

I love fluff, it what got me into the hobby. I've written a lot of my own stuff but i'm not really a writer and don't think other people would really want to read it .

I enjoy modelling and it is probably especially as i'm starting to experiment more, but it's probably on par with gaming (non competetive) if I have a good opponent.

Painting irks me, i'm not very good at it and can't really say it's something I enjoy. I occassionally get boughts of pride when I do something well or new like when I painted eyes for the first time (well without them looking bonk eyed anyway). I do it becasue i like the finished effect when you line up all your mini's and they look like an army and it adds to the feel of the battle. I'm not a fan of unpainted models as it IMHO has a negative impact on the narrative.

I love pretty much all aspects of the game, but I do prefer playing the game than the modelling painting aspect. Which is weird since I got into the game to paint the awesome miniatures.

Social aspect. It's great to spend time with the boys and not wake up the next morning with a headache and nausea.

Building the models is fun and I enjoy painting to degree, but after a while painting gets tedious.

I enjoy it all. Every single choice on the poll. But if I have to pick which is most important, I'd go with fun gaming (social).

I enjoy casual gaming, whether board-, video-, or tabletop-. Sadly, I don't get around to analog play all that frequently.

I also enjoy "fluffing" (snicker), in my particular way. I'm not one to read every single sentence of background in every codex or compile a list of names and achievements to memorize, but I like working creatively within a distinct framework. When I paint/model, I enjoy thinking my little tweaks through and ensuring that they fit the fluff, without feeling compelled to write a story about it. I like figuring out the themes of references and naming conventions and expanding them, partially as a mental exercise and partially for the satisfaction of slipping my work as seamlessly as possible into a universe I already like.

Mostly, though, I'm a painter and modeler. I don't work much and I certainly don't work quickly (hell, I'm not even all that good...), but the satisfaction of the final product has yet to be beat, for me. Even if it takes me a year and a half working piecemeal to finish a full mob of boys, I'll have a lifetime of warm and fuzzies waiting for me, so long as I keep glancing over at the shelf, on occasion. Even simply planning projects and discussing ideas and techniques for P&M is enjoyable to me, hence my inordinate amount of time spent on Dakka, as opposed to turning my chair around and rolling up to my workbench (whether you take that as an extension of P&M or a vote for "other - community" is entirely up to you).

I enjoy casual play with my friends and fluffing out armies, I love creating backgrounds and army badges. Modeling is enjoyable, but paining can get repetitive. I play in some local tournaments and perform OK, but I prefer casual play.

I too, am in the love it all catagory. Although I am not a competitive gamer for several reasons.

1. I am hesitant to say, but I feel its kinda WAAC and in violation of the spirit of the game, to build competitive for anything other than tourny play or practice.
2. I am again hesitant to say, but I would place myself in the top tier of players in our local gaming group. And if I DID take competitive lists, I would NEVER get anyone to play me outside of the tourny environment.

So I try to take strong but beatable lists, always avoid spam and "netlists" etc...

I recently reeally got into painting and have started churning out minis at the rate of 1-2 per hour and a half, and the quality is getting better which has only increased my love for this aspect of the hobby. Conversion is where I begin to fall a bit short, dont really do much of it after I converted my space wolves army over to Nurgle CSM (lots mixin kits XD)

But thats me and the hobby in synopsis
