It is a black comedy in the vein of Heathers and American Psycho. What it shines a light on and mocks in American pop culture is in itself disturbing.
Thus on some level it is supposed to be disturbing...

American Psycho was a comedy?
I mean it was clearly dark but I couldn't really place it's genre.

Synopsis: Bret Easton Ellis's dark and violent satire of America in the 1980s is brought to the screen in this unsettling drama with blackly comic overtones...

Or you could google and research yourself and see that it is the common undertanding of and classification for the movie despite how unable you seem to be to fathom it...

Or you could actually provide a link to where you got that quote from rather than just posting a quote?
Quotes are totally meaningless without sources, I could post the following for example.
American psycho is a romantic comedy
It was originally a genuine question though, thanks for being so helpful

Even if one couldn't tell from the movie itself , It took five seconds just now to type "American Psycho" into google and just about every link provided mentions the movie being "satire" and/or "Black Comedy".
As I stated it is the accepted and common interpretation/classification of the movie.
Not sure where your confusion stems from? Regardless, I dont really care that much.

I think the novelty of a man shooting annoying people is going to wear thin after 30 minutes. This movie seems like a one trick pony and all together not very good.

What was the pitch for this movie? "Ya know how sometimes you say you want to kill someone? Well this movie is them getting killed!" It seems like the bar for getting killed in this movie is pretty damn low. Hell the trailer seems to be packed with teenagers being teens getting killed off.
I fail to see how this movie will hold up it's premise or give the big life lesson. The plot seems pretty straight forward at this point and the satire is obvious. We're not looking at Voltaire here. All the random violence of Kick-ass now with a new twist! Watch more innocent people get butchered! Oh and the irony is the guy deserves to die because he couldn't figure out a way to better these people he just went on a killing spree and the girl because she's a sociopath.

That's basically what I got from it. The whole "annoying person is annoying, guy looks at him darkly and promptly shoots him" thing is funny for 5 seconds until you actually stop and think about how each and every one of us do or did annoying thimgs sometimes and it would have sucked to be shot for it....
Those people probably deserved a punch in the face, but death? hardly.
