The new suit is likewise awesome. I've just realised where the knee armour has come from... nice use of all available parts of the original kit

Regarding the hands, if you care enough to change them then you could easily just add some small bits of GS in between the first 2 and last 2 fingers and smooth it out. This would give the hands a more industrial grabber-style look ratherthan Tau or human, but it would stop people thinking they are clever by pointing out the number of fingers I also got great use out of the loose GK terminator hands in one of my projects. Really nice bits of kit.

Wasn't trying to be clever or trying to insult the OP, so I really don't know what the point of you making a snide comment about me pointing out the fingers was......unless veiled insults is your thing. Yes I pointed out the number of fingers, and? I also said they look great and really work well with the model. So what's the problem?

Oopsy, and I wasn't trying to cause offence. Its a fair point. I was merely thinking that it could get wearing after a while if the only niggly thing that people ever point out on them is that the fingers are wrong A poor choice of words perhaps.

No offense taken 'Bolter! I don't think Flinty was trying to be snide either. I think the fingers are one of those few details that I am willing to let slip for the look rather than the accuracy. In all honestly I don't really care about having an extra finger, creative license and all that. Though I did try cutting out a finger on a spare hand and it was just do difficult to get perfect.

More suits in progress, I only have a few more to go before I start on my Broad Sides.

Bladestorm suit: This suit shows off pretty much my final design. I have been experimenting with improving the head as I always though my design was just a little to small. I'm also a little on the fence about the gorget armor plate but I rather like that it ties in the armor on the legs nicely.

Deathrain Suit: I am waiting for (hopefully) my last bit shipment so I will be able to add the visor armor to the head and the gorget armor to the chest. I love the bazooka, kinda of sticks with the overall mech feel.

I know I promised a tutorial for how I built these stupid things and it is on the way, my iPhone decided to crap out so now I have a new one...sans tutorial photos. So I am going to be starting on my second Deathrain suit soon so I will document the process again!

@MrMerlin:
Posing is probibly my favorite thing about doing conversion work, I love the look of really dynamic models. This is also probably my biggest pet peeve about many people's work though, awesome looking paint jobs or amazing attention to detail but lame poses. It really amazes me that the most popular armies in 40k is all of the different flavors of Marines. For the most part they look very static and uninspired.

Yeah, I also find the converting and posing aspect of the hobby most rewarding....

And your new ones look amazing!

More awesome work. thanks for remembering us

On the bazooka mech I think he needs some kind of magazine, or at least some reloads draped somewhere handy.

One of them needs a plasma axe, just for decoration.

@n0t_u: I'm not really sold on the dagger either, right now it is just held on by a bit of sticky tack. Really the reason it is there is to cover up the area under the gorget. Maybe there is a better answer. As for the plasma axe, I hadn't even considered it! It would look really badass, make it look super Zaku like!

@Flinty:You can't really see them from any of the photos I posted but there are two reloads for the Bazooka on the left hip. I'll see if I can snap another picture. I was planning to stick a whole bunch on both hips but I had only converted up two so far.

Thanks for the support!

Great work.

First saw it and thought 'huh, cool he made a Zaku.'
Very cool, well done conversions that are very Front Mission esque.

How much would it cost for your to make mine look like this?

They are GK terminator hands I believe.

Also this thread needs more updating (for the greater good?)!

I still say lose the rivets from the Dread sarcophagus bits. Other than that, these are still great looking.

Deathrain is twin linked missile pods, or in this case missile pod and a big ass bazooka

I've got a pile of Tau I got from a friend, and the suits, in particular, need some special care. I got to figuring, while I'm having to do major work to them anyway, I should see about how I can improve them.

I'd love to do these conversions to them, but as a predominately Space Marine player and converter, while I can recognize a few of the SM parts, it's challenging for me to figure out where all of these other pieces come from. I'd love to see a tutorial on this!

Resv, I was so impressed with your conversions that in trying to figure out how you did them, I Googled tau crisis suit conversions and found your other threads on this on Advanced Tau Tactica.

I hope you don't mind, but considering how many folks here have expressed their desire for tutorials, I figured I'd link what you'd posted at ATT here:
