I haven't played against them terribly much, but Lychguard are the bane of my Orks. A ten-strong Lychguard unit with a Res. Orb in the center has just been infuriatingly difficult for me to take down. Toughness 5, 3+ Armor or a 4+ invul, and then a 4+ RAP roll every time one goes down? Argh.

I have yet to beat a Apoc grey knigth army. This is something I dessire to do but alas there s only one GK in my gaming circle, and he hates Apoc games

For my Guard list, it's my buddy's Space Wolves. Long Fangs and a deathstar unit of bikers are all it takes to ruin my day. We are currently tied in wins and losses, as well as draws, so we have an insane amount of enmity between our codexes.

More like, old necron monolith in 5th edition.

In 3rd & 4th you could wreck them with a lucky glance. They became silly in 5th once the damage charts were merged and glancing hits took a big negative modifyer. There were a few memorable moments I had back in the day where I'd pull out the old 6,6,6 roll to hit, glance & wreck the things!

I've never beaten Tyranids. Not only that, I've never seen a Tyranid army beaten. In any edition, ever.

Okay, admitidly it's because of the high number of complete d-bags who bring the filthiest of the filth lists and me playing Daemons... But seriously! How the hell I am supposed to put a dent in something as hienous as;
- Libby w/dark ex, sanctuary, MoT, shrouding.
- 5 wound allocated pallies w/2x psycannon + bro banner
- Stormraven

- Crowe tax

- 2x Techie w/grenades 'o win
- 2x 8 purifyers w/2 psycannons, 2 hammers, 4 halberds
- 2x rhinos

- 10 Intercepters (no upgrades)
- 2x 5 strikes (no upgrades) each in rhinos.

I litterly have almost nowhere to land if I loose the roll for 1st turn, and there's very little I actually want to get into combat with. The libby is death to anything in my army, forcing me to throw at least 2 squads into the pallies. (who are more than happy to rip me to shreads)
The purifyers are basically an auto-lose thanks to the durpy grenades. 'Thisters, princes, hounds, fiends, 'crushers... All of them have misserably failed thanks more to the damn grenades than anything else!

I hate playing the local GK players... Pretty much every last one of them spams the crap out of the rad/psychos in any list, and that's when I'm lucky enough to be allowed the good decency to land half my army before the warp quake shinanigans begin.
If I had a dollar for every time warp quake has fethed over my army, I could likely buy majority shares in the company by now!

I've had issues in the past bringing my Codex: Marines (Ultramarines) against Blood Angels, they just seem to do everything we do, but better in almost every category. The stuff we have that they do not (TFC/LSS) just do not seem to make up for the considerably ridiculous (and not really more expensive) stuff that they can bring to the battle.

The only time I saw them have issues was in low point games, 1000, which was the same issue I saw with GKs. Anything under 1500pts (at least at my local area) and GKs/BAs had issues playing against people.

Tried going at em with a bunch of Las Cannons and/or a bunch of Land Speeders? I've worked some Nids over with my IG, Valkyries to be exact, and although they pack more firepower (and cost more) Space Marines have that advantage with Land Speeders and Devastators. Anything that has a 3 AP (or better) is the bane of the large Nids as nearly all of them lack an invulnerability save outside of close combat (Zoanthropes/Doom of Malen-something being the exceptions I believe).

Might surprise you how well a fast army would do, Nids biggest issue with my Valkyries was their inability to catch them for melee.

I honestly don't know, i've never played against the same list enough times to come to the conclusion that I will never beat them.

My buddy and I usually play 1000 point games and he always has these. They're nigh unstoppable at 1000 points. My Space Marines just don't have the necessary resources to draw from at such low points :(

A sternguard squad with combi plasmas combat squadded should be able to take down both at the same time. Thats a lot of metagaming and converting though.

What kind of Nid lists are you fighting? Nids are pretty low on the power curve right now.

I used to pull that cheese at 1000 points all the time

Plasma, or just lots of shots. Try to position so that he can't double-charge you. Powerfists never hurt either. Don't jump out of your cars and you'll get a chance to rapid fire in his face.

Most armies I'm comfortable with, but I haven't played daemons, grey knights or dark eldar. Every other army I've won drawn at least once against, even if I lose most times to them (yes, you- tyranids and space wolves)
though space wolves is down to TFG at my LGS who's a WAAC player and I play for fun, so I was always kinda destined to die in those games...

For some reason, I just can't beat Thyra with Scaverous. Give me any other Cryx caster I own and I have and I've beaten the other Menoth Casters with him, but for some reason it always breaks down facing her.

Those pesky NIDZ have proven to be my biggest challenge!
Being an Ork player, I have yet to beat em in an annihilation game... though I have (barely) won a couple of times when it came to objectives!
I'll wipe em out some day

I've played against tyranids three times, 2 of which being annihilation... I lost those two, and won by one objective held by my 5 scouts through luck (took out three warriors and a lictor and stood there for 3 turns)
