Am starting to like this.
Hats of to a new set of very nice batreps. They might not always be balanced but they show exactly the things people want to see, competitive armies with good players (or the same player) facing of against each others.
These are very interesting to read and a very good initiative on Mercers part.

So very far away from the usual old reports featuring a monster tweaked murder army by a good general against some lame noob playing a half arsched crap list that it´s like night and day.

Very good batrep ideas that I will be more then happy recommending my friends to read through.

Against GK, yes psycannons will be at a disadvantage. But think of how many points you put into the nightshields, I personally don't think its worth it because all that points is spent so GK can't hurt you as much, it denys them a few shots but they will on average have plenty shoots to spare when trying to kill an av10 open topped tank with S7 and S4 guns.

Marthike, exactly what I think. I used nightshields in two games and I made my mine up easily. I've also played against nightshields and was only a few times my guns were out of range.

Anyway, I try hard not to make stupid things like ego and pride stand in my way of changing my mind. just because someone once did something I thought was stupid doesnt mean I always have to hate and never say anything nice when said person changes his ways in my eyes (a very big hint for ph3ar to try and emulate).

I read your blog with an open mind and I liked what you do and say, thought about our different opinions and said to my self, what the hell. Since I like where you are taking your batreps and what you say on your blog then why the heck should I keep having some idiotic grudge against you. I am better then doing the old routine of sticking to one opinion never daring to alter it. Rather I can start to approach you with an open mind and tell you that I like what I see. Nothing bad in doing that.

I think you did some really awesome batreps and I thank you for your time and effort to bring those to the dakka community. All respect to you and how to see more awesomness from you in the future dude.
I´ll be sure to show my friends your batreps and way of building armies since a few clueless friends of mine are pretty stuck in always loosing and I think your posts might bring some better gaming experiences to them.

I love the hammer set up, I only wish to add one thing. While 3 hammers are awesome, if you instead run 2 pcannon, hammer, sword, and sarge hammer, you save 5 points for something like dozer blades, and more importantly you have 1 model for wound allocation tricks. Sure, you still have tricks with 2 pcannon, 2 hammer, and sarge hammer, but if you need the points (and you were running 20 points under so you dont) the 3rd hammer being dropped does allow for some even more fun wound allocation.

I believe there's been bad history between the 2 in several of Mercer's older reports.
