They have 2 hqs in the badab war book, captain pellas, and bray'ath ashmantle (who's an hqs dreadnaught.) forgeworld has a ashmantle model available that looks incredible and pellas is just a captain with 2 power swords, so not that hard to convert.

Question about the 2 HQs do they have their own stats? Mind you I never seen the badab war book soooo if this is considered a stupid question that's why I'm asking it.

I believe the slow reflex thing was another of GW irritating alliteration about "lizards being slow". This is why I believe they dropped it like a squat... Because it was as stupid as a space wolf riding a wolf.... oops....

Do the salamander deal with any one threat more than the others?

Their most hated enemy is the Dark Eldar who used to plague Nocturne until Vulkan came along and falcon punched them.

I'm new to the 40k universe but so far i've been enjoying the fluff, so if someone could point me in the right direction that'd be great.

There's a free short story here:

http://www.blacklibrary.com/Downloads/Product/PDF/f/fires-of-war.pdf

It's basically a prequel to the Tome of Fire trilogy.

They do have their own stat lines, and they're in the same book (badab war book 2 i think.) but I don 't remember them off hand. I know that if pellas is in base with a another IC he can either get another attack or take away one of his opponents. Ashmantle has re-inforced ceramite so meltas and lances get no bonus, and he can forgo 1 CC attack to instead burn everyone in base combat with him. I'm sure theres more, but thats off the top of my head.
