The Alamo is very tiny, actually. However, it's still a neat place to visit.

San Antonio is a great vacation spot. Lots to do and see. There's a river walk (with bars, restaurants, shops and "starving artists"), a large zoo, Sea World, and some other stuff. It's also not too far from Houston, which has a lot to see and do.

There's better places to visit in the States, though. New Orleans is infinitely more fun, by comparison.

As for where I game, in the Midwestern USA, if you don't know where Chicago is, you do now.

We have some kind of FLGS who delivers WH from the Moscow, but mostly from other players/traders in wargaming clubs around. Preferring gaming clubs not being shops and vice versa.

I think GW only has stores in Europe, Australia in the US.

Independent retailers are probably all over the world though. Almost every city has a game store, and those usually stock GW products.

GW has a store in all of the country's important cities (yeah, there's more to France than Paris, just don't tell that to a Parisian ), and there are many FLGS as well. Three of 'em within walking distance here, pretty sweet. Speaking of which, that goes for the Eurostar as well... Hi GB !

That's a pet peeve of mine, but I often heard people complaining about not learning anything useful in school... When they could at the very least have worked on their English. I would be missing on so much things if I couldn't speak it ; like you said, you're restrained to your native sphere in that case.

Not alot of players in Japan unfortunately. The main games around here happen to be magic the gathering, yugio, and alot alot of people just make miniatures (trains/anime/nic nacks)

We do have a GW store in Nakano but there's no tables to play there. There's also another store in Fussa but mostly play warmachine there. I personally get alot of stuff from mail order either from the US or w/e is cheaper for shipping. End up buying quite a few things from GW. Have yet to try forgeworld but I may try out their keeper of secrets model if I get some more money.

This is an English speaking forum, why is it such a surprise that most people are from English speaking countries?
And the USA's population is 6 times the UK's so the fact that there's only twice as many American posters speaks volumes.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?

But theres more GW stores in Britain isn't there? Even provincial Tyne and Wear where I live has three stores. Surely not everyone in America has easy access or knowledge of 40k.

Of course USA, where foot ball is foot ball and were we know we can hold a ball with our hands. Other than that. I shop around my Local store and stores about 45 mins away. Other than that i go to ebay. If i am going to get models off the internet i am going for cheap. Most times i am only looking for certain models so it works out.

Reminds me of something, and it won't even be (too much) off-topic here !
I was wondering, about GW's scheme for Japan (not that they really do marketing...), doesn't the "localization" feels a bit lacking ? When I see 「グレイナイト ストライク・スカッド」 and the likes everywhere, it looks like they're not even trying.
