Just curious to know what the lay of the land is and how widespread 40k is?

And where do you actually get your models from?

I'm from Australia.

I get my models from local dealers.

That said, I haven't bought GW stuff in almost a year - as I don't need to get any more stuff - and I'm thinking of getting rid of some of it anyway.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

I'am expecting high results in most English speaking countries. But I'am sure I've seen a Chinese flag on here before and even a few I didn't recognise.

Myself, obviously I can just go to my town center in Newcastle (beautiful neo-classical city BTW ) and my local Games Workshop is there within walking distance of the Metro station.

Generally I tend to buy loads of stuff when its interesting and about my army. So I recently got two T-fexs and a hive tyrant from the new models range but might not buy anything rest of the year or longer. Unless they throw SoB or Tau at me then I won't be going back any time soon.

EDIT thats better Adolphus would be proud.

Also, any Brits had better be voting. I'am not having those rebels to His Most Britannic Majesty George the Third beat us on how many play 40k!

I play in the US. I get my models from a non GW store that I get a flat 15% off of due to knowing the owner. He has a customer loyalty system, and since i knew him before he opened his shop i get a year 0 discount or something like that.

No constitutionally all the Kingdom's are very different, Scotland has an Independant judiciary and legal system it has a Parliament. Wales is considered a seperate Nation but is actually a Principality rather than a Kingdom, it does not have an independant Judiciary the English Legal system applies to Wales. Wales is not allowed a Parliament so has an Assembly Government instead, Wales has retained its language to a much higher level than Scotland, where it is about 30,000 speakers of Scottish Gaelic and other dialects. Wales have 1 Million 1st language Welsh Speakers, with approx 2 Million (out of total population of 3 Million) who are conversant e.g can speak and understand but not neccessarily write it or read it. Welsh is compulsary at school in Wales and every government document road sign etc must be Bi-lingual.
North Ireland is, well I'm not going to even try to explain that one. It is actually very complex. The UK is extremely complex especially in recent times with the "Act of Devolution".

No not really, it the United Kingdom for a start, no s so technically it should be which country not Kingdom. It would be like the USA if Ohio want independence and wouldn't stop going on about it.

No...the United Kingdom is a united kingdom, funnily enough. There are different countries but there is one kingdom, one monarch.

Not quite true, a Principality is not a Kingdom, that's why it's call a principality the Welsh head of state was Technically the Prince of Wales but he defers to the natural order of the Monarch above it all got a bit silly, but the title of Prince of Wales remains. But we were subsumed and conquered. Should have fought a bit harder eh? But where would the English Army have been without Welsh Longbowmen.

The best way to articulate the UK devolution to a yank, is to say imagine if several county's in different states wanted to breakaway from the State itself and therefore become a new defacto State's within the US. So imagine Orange Country Declaring independance from the Union and then representation within the union and the ability to determine their own taxes and expenditure.

We are still one United Kingdom, but the damn Jockenese (Scots) have their own wrecking ball threatening the Act of Union, hopefully the deep fried mars bar eating *&^^*( know as Alex Salmond) will live to the average age of a Scottish Male and we can all breath a sigh of relief for the Act of Union at his funeral.

No.
We are one kingdom. The Queen is the head of Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. Stop over-complicating things.

Beginning with the kingdom of England, it was created by three acts of union: with Wales (1536), Scotland (1707), and Ireland (1800). It became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1921, after the rest of Ireland became autonomous as the Irish Free State.

You are over simplifying things, there are many nuances, The Duke of Lancaster is the Queen, The Duke of Normandy is the Queen. There are literally lots of little example where it doesn't quite ring true. I do however agree we are one United Kingdom.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Islands

Alot of people call themselves British or view themselves as part of the UK and it's not true.

Showing off about your knowledge of history isn't exactly pertinant...we're one united kingdom, there's nothing further to it.
The fact that executive authority is devolved to a lesser or greater amount is neither here nor there.
