I used buy my stuff mainly from GW, (especially when I worked there! ), but now I buy mainly from the only store in town that stocks various tabletop games.

Reminds me of something, and it won't even be (too much) off-topic here !
I was wondering, about GW's scheme for Japan (not that they really do marketing...), doesn't the "localization" feels a bit lacking ? When I see 「グレイナイト ストライク・スカッド」 and the likes everywhere, it looks like they're not even trying.

well most of the things in Japan are just referred to by their english names. We still call Crowe, Crowe. Draigo will still be draigo. I was watching some bat-reps' from Germany and I actually recognized most of what they are doing since the verbage is pretty much the same. (in case for others wondering, that just says Grey knights stike squad up above)

It's still a minor hobby in Japan though. Modeling is very hot and we have a boatload of just run of the mill model suppliers but not too much GW specific carriers. Also was using CM measures instead of inches though that's changing apparently. I think in Akihabra alone we have about 8 modeling supply stores in the same block. Around where I live and it's definately suburbs, there's still easily 2 -4 stores in walking/biking distance if all you need is paint/glue/static grass/air gun supplies. The figures themselves are the hard part. Oh ya, and for w/e reason, chaos black primer is hard to find. We got tons of Mr. Hobby and Tamiya grey primer spray though. I think it's just because all the gundams are white colored so don't really want black base. Neat stuff around here if you are a painter. They even have these super fine paint markers that come in just about every color, washes of all sorts, and heavy inks to do just about any amount of cool scripts you want.

One of these days I might be crazy enough to make a space marine samurai army but that's gonna take a while lol. Or heck, real gundams instead of tau suits. Might be fun. Honestly I think GW is trying, but competition is fierce out here. All the kids play is pokemon/yugio, the teens play magic, the adults got alot of RPG's that suck time like you wouldn't believe. Dating sims that you guys probably never see are very popular with men. The older folks tend to like model trains/dioramas of edo castle and the like. The crazy amount of parts available for conversions is just crazy. Ever want a hot anime girl as your daemon princess? It's far cheaper than the GW model (1000 yen + 120 for wing bits)! There's tons of wing bits too. You want angel/mech/daemon/huge/small? They have loose pieces in most stores. Price and import tarrifs I think keep GW from really doing well here.

Why is Australia at the bottom!?

I'm from Australia and I buy all my stuff online and get them shipped over internationally.

We're NOT at the bottom.

We're still ABOVE New Zealand (as it should be).

So much easier with non-GW games and international buying, though. Although with less of a markup, there's more competition from local dealers, so it's often not worth the dollar or so you might save.

You're probably getting more of a "who uses dakka" than a "who plays 40k" result in this poll.
