I got my WQ box back off Simon last week; minus loads of the bits, but that's fine as the main things I was after were the cards and the rules. The box included all the doorways (*WIN!*) as well as a random assortment of minis. Most of these were Heroquest henchmen (not so useful) and Heroquest mummies, which are ever so useful as GW don't do generic mummies any more, only character ones.

I also appear to have every itteration of wizard, starting off with Heroquest, going into Advanced Heroquest and finishing with the WQ wizard. The Heroquest one is so very very small!
There were also 2 of the WQ Minotaurs, which look just as weirdly proportioned as the new Warhammer ones, but in a different way. Does anyone know of a decent manufacturer of minotaur models? The ones I've found are:

GW's Plastics - Arakasi assures me they look better in real life, but not by much

Reaper's looks better, but there's only one and I need 3; preferably different, ones.

Avatars of War's one looks hunchbacked and doesn't really appeal. There are also only 2 designs

Rackham did some nice ones for the Sessairs, unfortunately these are now rare, expensive and don't quite fit with the aesthetics of the Warhammer world

Scibor's ones look very detailed and are certainly interestingly posed... but the heads look a bit odd to me

Enigma Miniatures has a nice one listed in their News section as being available to order, but I can't find it in their web store... very odd! Ah, here he is on Maelstrom. Again, there's only one pose.

Does anyone know of any other Minotaur manufacturers that I can consider? At this rate, I"ll be running Skin Wolves as Minotaurs (which will be tricky when my players eventually reach the Skin Wolves I'm writing )

So I don't forget them. Here's where to buy plastic barrels www.evilmushroomgames.com

As I've mentioned before, In order to create multi-level dungeons, I'm creating 2x2 blocks that will allow the tiles to be stacked up. I decided yesterday that it'd be a great plan to make a mold of this block, so it's faster to create new ones. There are two important things to remember when making a mold.

1) If you want it to be a one piece mold... make sure the bottom of your item is flat, or you end up with something like this. Ooops!

2) If you've got something that, like mine, is empty in the middle remember to put something in the middle so you can actually get the model out. for example, in order to get the square out, I had to carve a large hole in the middle so that the central column would squash enough to let the model out. this owuld have been much easier if I'd put a large piece of dowling or something in the middle that could be removed easily, leaving a cavity. It would have also saved a fair bit of rubber... next time!

This afternoon I've got a load of bits casting/drying... so hopefully later I can undercoat them all and do a big batch of painting in one go. I've also got all of the WQ doorways undercoated in preparation, so things are actually progressing... even if it's been very very quiet here lately.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

How did I not see this PLog?

I love the hirst dungeons - have you looked on their forum? There are loads on there and they might give you some good ideas vis a vis how to organise building up the tiles/walls/rooms/platforms.

I'd really love to get into Hirst's stuff so if you ever make another order for moulds, let me know and I will split postage with you

You probably didn't see it because it got buried by time and wasn't all that active to start with

The Hirts forums are where I started when thinking about making the dungeon as they have a tutorial on making a 3d set of Descent that looks pretty cool. I did think about doing a 3d Space hulk board too... but I don't actually have a gaming group to play with, so this one is more of an experiment.

I think the one thing I would change if I Were to start this again is to go for the smaller floor tiles as a 4x4 room is massive and the heroes look a bit lost. It's a bit late to buy the smaller tiles and start again... I've cast up too many floor bits.

Oh. I ordered from http://www.hirst-arts.co.uk/, which gives you UK postage on items
