Who is to say this is a mispack and not simply a warehouse employee thinking he was pulling a clever prank on a future buyer? Items may not have ended up in that box by mistake which could easily account for the blister pack included there.

Heck this sounds like something I would do just to mess with the customer service people. Imagine the face of the guy picking up the phone when a customer calls to complain about buying a box of chaos and getting a full grey knight army. You have to wonder at that point if that customer isnt trying to pull your leg.

As it happens you may be right, I know a chap that was involved with the packing at GW a few years back, they quite often used to mix and match stuff in boxes for s***s and giggles and the chance that they might actually buy the aformentioned miss packed items, by some random chance !
Its not really that unrealistic, its a shame that so many people feel the need to come down on the OP like a ton of bricks.

chaos0xomega: I think they stopped doing it sometime in the early 2000's. Rest assured it is a Blister pack with red card backing.
I'm curious now; do you remember when regiment kits came with a movement tray in the box?

And then he hung up. Love that guy.

Wow, coming down harsh on the OP here. I believe him, I mean it could be perhaps some of the packers having a laugh, it could even be one of the packer's attempt to steal something maybe? "I just want to buy this battleforce" "didn't you buy one last week Larry?" or something similar.

There's a big difference between people saying they got the wrong parts in a box, or they got the wrong models in a small blister. The only way I can see this being true is if it was some sort of Grey Knight Release, and someone didn't get the memo that extra Chaos Force was actually their first look at the new Grey Knights. Otherwise I'm calling shennaingans. But that's my opinion on this matter!

I'm actually inclined to believe this, and would like to know when the op bought it. The reason being, this sounds pretty much identical to the Grey Knight black box that was sent out to promote the new models last year. I could easily see a factory goon mixing up what goes in what box and sending them to the sealer.

Shhhh, everyone prefers becoming an angry mob that sets out with torches and pitchforks, tar and feathers to destroy the OP. Nobody wants to believe something could be mixed up like that. I too believe the OP-with pictures, what's the point of trolling? He buys all of it and spending at least $100 to 'make us look like idiots?' Yeah, I doubt it. I think a lot of people in this thread were just being visited by their Aunt Flo and were feeling a bit butt-hurt towards the OP.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

How recent did you purchase that box? I think most boxes are premade and stocked up years before the GK codex was released. Still, a cool find (but useless for a real Chaos player. Sell them or your a traitor and the Chaos Gods will make you roll 1s for every 2+ save!)

In early 2000, I bought an Iyanden army box deal. I was surprised to get a bunch of Eldar stuff, but not a single wraithguard or wraithlord. I forget what was in the box exactly, but I think that the majority of the models were warlocks and heavy grav platforms.

I called em up, shipped them back to GW and they sent me the proper item + some other stuff for my time.

I've had a few more mispacks here and there, but nothing that bad again.

I don't know for what reason he would do it, other than to have a strange busy thread here on Dakka, but, I believe this is not true.

I've had my own share of mispacked stuff with calls made in to GW to have replacement parts sent.

The reason I think this is not a real package is pretty simple, the sprues in the package are split in half so that they will fit into the smaller boxes. In the case of the pack above, every sprue is broken along the break lines. If his grey knights he is holding up were unsnapped, I would give the story above a lot more gravity, since the only way to get an unsplit sprue of grey knight models would be from the factory, or in the not-yet-existent Grey Knights battleforce.

I cant really tell you when I bought it. Things tend to get a bit confused in my Bits closet...
This is what it looked like before I got everyting put away....

I know I got it at least 1 1/2 to 2 years ago (if not longer).

I think grey knights were released April last year? FWIW I am inclined to believe OP, and the black-box mix up theory seems about right to me. I remember making a thread about the G black box, and I checked - the black box was released to stores on March 12 (in the UK at least).
