So I just spent like the last 3 hours going through about 3/4 of my bits boxes(drawers, tubs, bags) looking to see if I could find a Cypher mini. Anyway while I was doing this I saw I had an unopened Battleforce box of Chaos. Well I wanted to look at some of the bits from the inclosed possesed. So I opened it. I didnt find any possesed inside. What I found was 10 GreyKnights, 5 GK Termis, a Dreadknight and a blister pack for Draigo in metal. So .. I guess I will have to bitz order Cypher, since I couldnt find one in my closet of stuff and get some possesed while Im at it.

Whats the weirdest mispackaging you ever got???

The reaction to this thread is rather confusing to me. Mispacks happen, right? Why is everyone so eager to call BS on Nicorex? What does Nicorex have to gain by creating a thread for people to share their misadventures with quality control? So he had an epic level mispack, so what. He isn't ripping into GW or trying to scam them for new miniatures he is merely trying to share something he found comical and encourage others to share their experiences. So, whats up with all the curmudgeonly behavior?

Anyway, Nicorex well done for "defending" against the ridiculous accusations leveled at you. If there were a golf clap orkmoticon I'd surely bestow that upon you. Instead I'll share my own mispack issue that was relatively minor but created a happy coincidence.

I picked up a Battletech miniature about 15 years ago that was mispacked. It was a `Mech with two left legs. As a result I left it in the packaging for a few years until finally deciding to hunt for a replacement right leg on a Battletech trading site. After minimal searching I came into contact with a gentleman who had the same problem as I did but he was cursed with two right legs. So, after a quick swap my gimpy `Mech was restored and I like to think that I somehow found the miniature's mispack-brother so many years later through the wonderful inter-webs.

I still doubt this massively, how don't we know you simply placed those spures and the blister into the box? The stuff may fit but that proves nothing.

Sure, but to what end?

What does he gain for concocting such a story? Does it make a thread about mispacks any better? Does he gain internet cred for having the ultimate GW mispack?

I believe the OP because he has zero reason to lie about it.

Once way, way back in the day when the crappy plastic terminators came out (the ones on small bases, not the later kit) and I picked up a box in the store and it was super heavy. So I bought it and it had a full squad of metal terminators inside, each in an individual blister. So I have seen metals packed into things that were supposed to be all plastic.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

That is your perogative. You dont know if I faked this or not. The only way to give you proof is to go back in time and invite you over before I opened it. I guess I could have filmed it, but wouldnt that be even more suspicious? Why would I film myself opening a box so i can look at some bits? I dont run a podcast and the damm box is years old (the Chaos battleforce, I actually purchessed this box about a year ago as far as I can remember). Ask yourself a question though. Why? Why would he bother to do this? Is he trying to get sympathy? or attention? April Fools is over and wouldnt that have been a better time to fake something like this? On the other hand, I didnt rant and rave that this had happened. I didnt go capslock crazy about how much GW sucks. I didnt wail on about how I was gona call them and demand a new box of chaos stuff. Go look through all my other posts, find one that comes off as an attenion seeking, foaming at the mouth n00b. I dont think you will... Admitidly I have not always been sober when I have posted stuff though. It was funny and I thought you all might get a kick out of a weird screw up. Im sorry that you dont belive me. I dont appreciate being called a Liar though.

Also was ther ever a Splash release of a GK battleforce? I honestly dont know. There isnt one listed on the GW website. If there was, what was in it?

Also DarkTraveller777, thank you for your kind words. If I had known that people would get upset and question my honesty, I would have never posted anything about it.

HE HAZ EPIK MIZPAK HE MUZT B LYIN'.

Seriously, why? I remember buying a box of the old metal Grey Knights one time, and it had the advertised 10 grey knights, as well as half of Inquisitor Coteaz' retinue. This stuff happens.

But if he was pulling a prank, it's a pretty bloody expensive one. £65 for a box, then £40 (?) for the Dreadknight, £18-ish (assuming) for the PA GK's, £28 for the termis. Why would you bother?

Theres a diff between a mis pack of a few extra models or a couple of missing parts, and a mispack that contains nothing but an entirely different model range. It simply does not happen... In fact aside from the aforementioned problem of knowing it to not be a real mispack because it contains a metal blister (in blister packaging no less) within something that has NEVER had metal pieces in it, I know it to be a mispack because unless GW has changed their production and packaging line, the two are completely seperate. Hybrid kit (metal/plastic hybrids) required the box to be sent from the plastics department to the metal department for completion. Besides that, they would NEVER package an already packaged (blister pack) mini inside of a larger package...

As for "its too expensive to do it, why would you bother?" if he already had the stuff anyway, why not? Dont assume that he went out to the store to pull this off... I have unbuilt minis for about 5 different armies sitting in boxes in my room (and in some cases, they are stored inside other boxes unrelated to them entirely)

I'm sure theres a joke in here about how Matt Ward made Grey Knights into Chaos Space Marines somewhere...

It's called 'skepticism'. This is very unlikely, and I don't think the pictures are enough evidence. He has a reason to lie, maybe he likes to fool people. Maybe he wants to 'brag' about getting a fortunate mispack and make us awe in wonder. Most likely we will never know.

I don't feel that, as a community we should be calling out someone who has something to share with no evidence other than "skepticism".

There is absolutely no reason to be on this guy like a tonne of bricks just because he has something to share and you seem to think his claims are false.

How long ago was this? I've been buyin GW products for 10 years, and the only metal bits packs ive ever got were in clear plastic clamshells... NOT blister packs.

I ended up with a shining spear box set with the metal blister of parts. The blister was missing one of the metal driver pieces, but had one of the old 2nd ed LotD metal back packs in it.
