Whoever made the flowchart did a good job of simplifying it and making it as clear as possible.

That is an awesome flow chart. At first I was a bit confused then it made sense. Wouldn't it be great if GW used these?

You are correct.

Maybe I should have signed the chart, it is getting a bit of use :-)

Well I'm glad you made the chart it is quite helpful for quickly explaining how to tell newer players(or those unfamiliar with FNP) how to tell if you get it.

You Know DR, eventually that flow chart will be stickied, especially with how often questions about how FNP works seems to come up.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I'm glad this version is the one getting the press. I remember you made another one that was technically more detailed/accurate but was actually confusing unless you already understood FNP. This version is great.

Except nobody reads stickies.

Yes the other one was a bit more detailed, and complicated. Then I remembered K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) and deleted the other one.

Ghaz, while it may be true that no one ever reads stickies, it would make it so much easier to just direct people to the sticky every time someone asks about FNP.

Not really. Just post the pic as above.

(as is logical) beacuse i i was protected by power armour had help from the dark gods and was in a bastion all three would protect me. the fact that i was in a bastion wouldn't negate myt armours effectaveness neither would my armour stop the bastion from working or my aura of power given to me by the weaver of fates tzeench be prevented from working because i was in a building and armour. you take a cover save, then your armour save then your invulnerable. and if i remember correctly you have to take saves untill you die or survive.

You can have as many saves as you want, but if you take a wound you can only use your best save - and only that one roll.
Stacking saves would be amazingly overpowered and the game would lean even more toward MEQs.

Mmm stacking saves.... You mean 2nd edition. Termies had a modifiable save of 3+ on 2d6 and if they had a storm shield they would get that save also. Made em tougher than nails.

Lokas wrote:The armor value on the model with FNP does not affect whether FNP goes off or not.

For example, if I have FNP on a unit of Wyches, and they get shot up by bolters, an AP 5 weapon. That's enough to deny their 6+ armor, but it would not deny FNP.

Now if it was an AP 2 weapon, or a power weapon, something that always denies every armor save, they would lose FNP.

That's exactly why people give you the rule of thumb that if the model can make a 2+ armor save, it can also take FNP.
