As an American fan of ice hockey, I understand perfectly well the advantage of a call going your way now and then due to embellishment, but the fact that two soccer players can't so much as look at each other without both of them falling down, clutching their knees, and screaming like children ruins the game for me.

As far as I am aware, video is used after the match to go after players who are cheating/going against the spirit of the game, but I've yet to hear about any players who fell over a blade of grass getting any come back from it (not that I follow football news other than what people talk about in the office).

I know its been said earlier but *cough ASHLEY YOUNG cough*.

Definitely need goal tech, Lampard's goal against Germany should definitely have counted and goal tech would have sorted that out.

Sepp Blatter is probably considering to see how the game goes with a square ball. -_-

I like that idea, more goals per game!

On topic, yes they should have implemented technology years ago

I actually enjoy soccer quite a bit (by American standards).

Yes, they absolutely need video reviews. They also need to institute punishments for players flopping (automatic red card, IMO). And, they need to do something about the clock.

Seriously, you don't know how much time is left until it's almost over? That's the craziest thing ever. Are the referees incapable of hitting a button to stop the clock?

Is it time that video technology was introduced into football? With all the controversy at the moment, ranging from the 'goal that wasn't' in the Chelsea vs Tottenham semi-final to Young's repeated diving offenses I reckon the referees need this weapon in their arsenal (no pun intended) in order to help the game more clearly. It will help determine those questionable calls on fouls, penalties and offsides, as well as allowing them to award or disallow goals as they should be. What do you think? Is it time to bring in the video ref?

Wussies, there's massive entertainment value being missed here.
Before the game, pick 20 random fans from the stadium. They gey the joy of being on the sidelines. Give them wiffle bats and a bag of assorted GW finecast returns (ok it might be a big bag there). Use instant replay. If the judge is wrong the random fans are allowed to leap from the sideline and chase the judge for two miutes, beating him with the bats and pelting him with finecast returns. Good clean entertainment.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
