I played nid v nid the other day, even with very similar paint schemes! It was brutal and amusing, two hive tyrants hurling psychic abuse at each other over a rock and stealers v stealers. All good fun!

I've done this (with 1k Purifiers). Went pretty badly for me, managed to scrape draw only barely, and that was because we both had 2 objectives on our own deployment zones.
He killed all my troops on one of my objectives and I managed to contest one of his.

I'd like to see Tau v. anything at my local shop. We currently have no Tau players here anymore. I don't like the force personally, but whenever I've played them, I've had lots of fun.

I agree, tau are very, very awesome and very, very rare.

Today I went to my FLGS and asked if they had piranhas, and they were confused, and pointed me towards the pet shop in the mall, because they had never heard of it.

The awesome thing about Tau vs. Tau is that it means someone is an enclave-themed army, which is amazing

I've never ever seen an enclave army. That would be a great fight. Tau vs. Tau. I actually think Tau vs. Space Marines would be a good fight despite the over usage of Space Marines, because the Tau have weapons that can really hurt Marines.

For the most part, tau weapons are S5 AP5 though, so are more suited to killing light infantry.

I do agree though, plasma is widely available to tau, and I make good use of it (all my suits, except broadsides, have Plasma rifles.)

I beat a nid player with my orcs a few weekends ago. I didn't know how lucky I am to have such variety in the armies my group uses. We have every army except SOB being played. Not all at once of course but I've seen all the match ups mentioned.

**Buttons**

Tyranids vs. Chaos Daemons, particularly Khornate. Bloodletters fighting genestealers, Greater Daemons fighting Hive Tyrants, Daemon Princes vs. Carnifexes, and Bloodcrushers charging a group of Tyranid Warriors.

Genestealer heavy nids versus blob IG is glorious to watch.

It makes me think of Aliens, with the marines cautiously advancing and then suddenly xenomorphs out of fething nowhere.

Big blobs supported by armor marching up the board, the armor trading shots with tyrannofexes and hive guard, and then suddenly genestealers popping up all over the place, charging into the surprised and unprepared guard. I'd like to see that match again, it was really fun to watch.

I think it's the fact that vanilla space marines have no place here that brings out the more obscure fan bases

Done that. Almost mirror lists. Absolutely boring. Ended in a draw.

Highlights were his Kroot outflanking in front of a Hammerhead which proceeded to tank shock them the next turn. They didn't regroup. Also 2 of my Crisis Suits pummeling the enemy hammerhead to death in CC after cover-hopping across the table.
