Honestly, I think hand brushed tanks look the same as air brushed tanks (All other things being equal)
The point is, if I can tell your tank is airbrushed, your doing it wrong.

btw I primed it with Halfords red oxide car primer & then used pigments.
The only 'painted' bits are the brass bits & a couple of cables.

not exactly a tank, but it's still a hand-painted vehicle :p

an airbrush isn't going to make your tanks better, but it should save you (a lot of) time. it took me forever to get a smooth base coat on that speeder. I've got two rhinos still sitting in boxes because I can't bring myself to deal with base coating a vehicle again. you can make beautiful tanks with a brush just fine, so long as you have the patience (and a big brush) for it. having said that, now that I've done it by hand once, I'll be investing in an airbrush before I tackle my rhinos

@reaper6: were those tanks photographed on real snow? if not, that's some of the best looking fake snow I've seen...

Looks like Unsupervised Game Store Kid found your tank. Is the gunner named Frep? It looks amazing though. White is hard to do well, and you did it.

Base coat, wash, dry brush base coat color back on and edge highlight. Painting for 30+ years helps, but isn't required.
