Today in a battle between my Chaos Space Marines and Ultramarines....
I had both of my Dreadnoughts go crazy every turn of the game and shoot my own men with plasma cannons (one was immobilised, thus when I was managing to roll high it was still an issue). Three of my four oblterators killed themselves with overheating plasma cannons. My Chaos lord killed himself by failing his daemon weapon attacks three turns in a row (whilst taking no wounds from the enemy and after killing four of the five terminators he was fighting in the first round of combat). Holding back two squads of marines behind a building from chargin across no mans land against two squads of heavy bolter armed devastators, only to only lose one of them on the last turn of the game when I finally did get the nerve to charge (mostly due to my horrendous dice rolling eventually allowing for my twenty daemons to eventually arrive...).
And after all that still managing to pull of a victory (me scoring 5 killpoints to my opponent's 3....all of which I'd enflicted on myself.....).
Only now to I remember that some of my dice are a bit bent and roll consistant ones. =P

First game of 40K I DS a unit of 6 gun drones behind a BA razorback and managed to get 5/6 glances. Then rolled enough immobilized and weapon destroyed results to wreck it.
This only happened because the guy laughed when I told him what I was planning so the dice gods turned in my favor.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous

Last local tournament saw one fo my Ravagers making every single flickerfield save for the entire game surviving untouched despite a lot of incoming fire It surprised me, as i normally can't roll a 5+ twice in a row
I also had a Haemonculus Ancient miss with or fail to wound with his hexrifle for an entire tournament. 3 full-on games, not one neat statue :(

1) Had a IG Heroic Senor Officer beat a Broodlord in one round of close combat on the turn the boordlord charged!
2) has Yarrick with Penal Legion smash into Astorath with Death Company and the side annihilated each other except for Yarrick and Astorath, both at one wound. Astorath killed Yarrck and consolidated away. Yarrick stood back up on my turn and shot Astorath in the back of the head!

I've had one or two. The most notable that I can think of in recent memory is a squad of 6 fire firing in melt range at the rear end of a rhino. 4 hit, they all penned, and I rolled all 1s and 2s. Not even enough twos to get it to a wrecked status.
Another one was my 6 howling banshees charging a lone obliterator. I did 1 wound of the charge and the combat ended up lasting for 3 rounds, and I lost 3 banshees before I finally managed to kill it. The rolling was terrible. I'd inflict 1 or 2 wounds a turn and he kept making his 5+ invulnerable saves.
As for ones that worked in my favour, my fire dragons managed to hold out against a tau commander and his bodyguard for about 4 turns before finally getting killed, and I had a unit of dire avengers hold out against a unit of necron warriors with a lord (old codex) for almost the entire game. Granted neither of these units are great in combat, but then again, neither are S3 T3 4+ units.

Plenty of the stuff in this thread isn't that improbable, like failing 3 out of 3 4++ saves (1 in 8 chance). 10 Gretchin killing 10 Assault Marines is so improbable I can barely believe it. How many turns did it take? Ignoring the Runtherd, the odds of 20 Gretchin attacks killing 10 Space Marines is something like a hundred trillion to one against, unless the dice are biased.

Well unless his dice were loaded I think I was just lucky and it was only in 1 assault phase, although 10 gretchin had died (I only counted the ones that survived in my post)

During an apoc game, last turn and the enemies are in shooting phase. My titan is still on the field and they have 4 super heavy tanks in range while I have no Void Shields and down 2 structure points.
And then I hear "no don't shoot at that" they stop shooting my titan and for the first time in 5 hours of gameplay they focus on taking objectives.

A max squad of grots (it was max sized before shooting) wiping out one of my LOTD squads in cc. It was rather ridiculous, as the shooting phase took out the runtherd, and the two flamers did moderate damage, but then in cc.... Ive never seen so many 1s and 2s on one side AND so many 5s and 6s on the other.

This one time I was against an Eldar player and during this match. When his forces got close enough to my gunline, I destroyed the only useful weapon on one his tanks and redeployed my Hammerhead elsewhere to target another threat (Not in that order of course). However on his turn he did the unexpected. He rammed the weaponless tank into the rear armor of my Hammerhead. After several rolls both the HH and his tank exploded from the collision. Nevertheless, we were both amused by this

It was the last match in a tournament. Me Dark Eldar vs Imperial Guard 2000pts
It was the bottom of the last turn and i needed to control one more objective to win the match and come in 3rd place. On 1 objective all that was left was 3 of my Wyches and 1 Valkyrie and all of my lances where either gone or blasters on the other side of the table. So i charged the Valkyrie with the 3 Wyches with Haywire Grenades, got a single 6 to hit, then got a 6 with Haywire to penetrate it, then a 6 to make it explode, and when he rolled to wound the 3 Wyches he rolled 2 1's and a 2. I won the game and came in 3rd place

My Daemonettes were locked in combat with some Ork Boyz after getting a good assault on the previous turn. We started rolling for the next combat, me getting 27 attacks against only a handful of remaining Orks should have been an easy win. I let the dice fly and rolled 11 ones on my 4+ to hit roll, in addition to a normal amount of twos and threes. The few that made it through were then reduced by wound and save rolls to end up only kill a pair of Boyz. I then took three wounds when he struck back, then failed to save the one No Retreat wound. It was a really close game and my entire strategy relied on killing those Boyz to either force a draw with marginally bad luck (11 ones out of 27 dice bad!) or win with good luck.

Hi,
During my Tau days I had my commander(shas' el i think) charged by the emperors champion from my friends black Templars only to survive three 4+ invulnerable saves due to a shield drone and then kill him in return.
Next turn I charged into his chaplain and took him down to a single wound with no damage in reply. Who says tau can't scrap would have finished the chaplain too apart from the game ending I reckon.

was playing a BA razor spam list in the last Ard Boyz and managed to roll an amazing amount of ones through out the day. final overall tally was 521 ones rolled with 217 of those being in one game. funny thing was that i knew from the start it was gonna be a bad day so i had managed to keep track of my accomplishments of failures that day. i hold club records for most ones rolled in a single game and tallest stack of wrecked tanks at a whopping 11 rhino chassis tall, all of which happened at the Ard Boyz semis. i managed the tallest stack of wrecks on my last game as i was so far behind it didnt matter so i decided to have some fun and managed a draw in that game

My opponent was playing a fully mechanized Marine army, 2 land raiders, 4 rhinos, 4 razorbacks, 2 whirlwinds, and various squads inside (i didn't pay attention to those. You will see why) My opponent, who has played the game since the rogue Trader days focused all his fire on my rail guns....and ended up losing all but the 2 whirlwinds to a pair of stealth suit teams, who happened to get into fusion blaster range faster than my battle suits. All in attendance were stunned, but i Guess shield drones have to work some of the time

I've got four
1st: I was having a 4k battle with my friend (he plays nids) and his biovore lands a shot on my immortal squad of ten, no prob right, well he rolled amazingly and all but two wounded and I fail SIX 3+ armor saves. then at the end of the shoot phase I make every RP roll and all six stand back up.
2nd: same game one of my other squads of ten immortals get fired at by a lot of guants, I think it was 150 shots about , 80 hit 40 wounded and I make all but seven armor saves. I then fail the moral test, and the other two to keep the remaining Immortals from running off the table edge.
3rd: again same game, First turn my scarabs assault his Carnafex (we were playing on a table WAY to small for this kinda game) It had crushing claws and a heavy venom cannon. for three turns my five scarab bases held the fex there, they also managed one wound striping his armor save so on my turn4 a squad of immortals gunned him down.
4th:In a different game against a different tyanid player I had a squad of seven warriors (it was 500 points and this was before the recent dex release so I was going to phase out if one or two died) and his Warrior Prime charged the squad, being in a ruin the warriors went first and wound three times, and my opponent failed two saves, just enough to kill it, keeping me in the game for another turn. of course his next turn his zoenthrope fired a warp blast in to the building wiping out the warriors.
