I can't be too surprised at this. The whole Murder Mystery Dinner thing is basically a LARP, so that crosses over to tabletop RPGs and potentially wargames.

Sitting behind me at work. Again.
This is like the 8th person now - with 3 different employers.
I only got about half of them started, but they all asked me for info first. Really.

In the ER.
While my wife was passed out on the gurney medicated, I was reading the Horus series to pass the time.
New nurse came in, did the vitals check, asked me some questions that wife was unable to answer... noticed the book, and off we went chatting about non-medical stuff.
(but the medical stuff did come first, priority)

Reminds me of a post I remember reading in a thread like this some years ago. Apparently a guy went to the doctor and before the nurse took blood she said "Blood for the blood god!" after recognizing a tattoo on his arm.

When I started drinking at a favorite watering hole again, I recognized the head bouncer as a memeber of our old gamers' guild. Then he informed me that they played D&D in the back room every Wednesday night.
Imagine the look on people's faces when they saw our three main bouncers and one of our bartenders playing D&D. No picking on the geeks that time, they can cut you off and kick you out... forcibly...
