That was before the new codex. Mankind will die out way before DE do. If anything, DE numbers are swelling. They have lots of babies, most from test tubes, some Trueborn. But they don't lose many for long, thanks to homunculi being able to regrow them from body fragments. No, the DE are doing just fine. And if they had no souls, they'd have nothing to worry about from She Who Thirsts.
They exist to survive. In their case, survival demands cruelty.

I could see Lady Malys listening to beethoven and doing her makeup for a night on the town. She goes out to dinner, on the way severing the heads of some random people.

Afterward she goes out dancing, which is more like fighting to waltz music. After she flawlessly executes several dance "partners" she returns home.
Movie night. Microwaves some popcorn, pours herself a glass of wine and throws on some light comedy-Maybe the human centipede.
They are psychotic, monstrous hedonistic debauched nutcases...but they still have class.
