Thousand Sons Battleship wandering the galaxy...

Weren't there two moons in WFB? The Eldar homeworld had three. TBH, I'm surprised this thread has lasted this long. I'm pretty sure GW removed all connections between this and 40k since 3rd Edition.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

FB and 40K, being from the same company, do share some nods at one another and some common lore and images. It was, once upon a time, possible to get chainswords as Gifts of Chaos in FB, and may still be possible, but this is just a nod to the other title, not proof that one is resident within the other.

The Emperor mentioned in FB is the ruler of the human Empire, named Karl Franz II, the last I knew (this may have changed, it's been many years since I did anything with Fantasy), not the immortal God-Emperor of Mankind.

And, yes, Sigmar was kinda-sorta hinted at being a Primarch. Probably one of the lost Primarchs. Doesn't matter, because it was only ever a rumor, never

Strange takes me to skulltakers page. .the same named charictor that can be used in warhammer and in 40k. .there for proveing that they coexist. .

No, that just proves that Skulltaker is usable in both games.

Ok so what other named characters can be used then ? normal deamons and greater deamons can but there not supposed to be the same indervidual ...

as the realm of chaos in the north is a colapsed "star gate" made by the old ones this would suggest thet the old world is a lost planet in the warp or the 40k universe

Doomrider - NA NA NA!

'nuff said

I will once again re-iterate: GW has separated both universes from each other since 3rd Edition.

also thers chainswords in whfb such as the ones belonging to red hand kolchis and the powerfist that belongs to isak koomriver pg54 liber chaotica

or the 16 pages in liber chaotica in which a scribe in the old world has dreams about "so it will occor that the eye torn in the sky and the legions that dwell there in a state of constant warfare will spill out ,united under a single leader and once again assail the bedrock of mankind "
at there head the abandoned one at the head of his black legions and will turn his threat towards the fortress of cadium..that will be defended by lupine warriors ...and on his forth crusade we shall lement the venerators and the warhawks as they will be lost....his warriors of iron clash with the iron handed ones at sturdy medusa but what comes of that engagement my loard has not gifted me to see...
and once more the lupine warriors and the knights of grey will sally forth to route the deadly foe..the mortal shell of angrom himself will be cast back into the infernal realms..

and then has a scetch of a world eater done by the scribe from his dreams ........

Right, because both IPs are owned by the same company, and have certain thematic elements in common. Further, it's cheaper for GW to pay one artist to make stuff for both games, or recycle his/her art between both as they already paid for it, rather than hire a completely separate art team for each product line.

Yes, there are conversion rules for using elements from one of the games in the other game (or, rather, there used to be)... but this is a sort of thing that you do as a hobbyist, not some sort of explanation of how things are linked in the fictional universe. I note that these sorts of rules sort of fell by the wayside as GW became more interested in selling models and less in just having people be wargaming enthusiasts.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

And Yoda is in Soul Calibur... Doesn't mean that Soul Calibur takes place in the Star Wars universe.

The similarities in the two games were initially there because when they created Warhammer 40K, they just took Warhammer Fantasy and 'sci fied' it. This was originally explained as the WHFB world being an isolated world that was cut off from the rest of the galaxy by warp storms.

In second edition, the 40K fluff started to get more fleshed out, and various parts of the 'shared' fluff started to show some signs of drift between the two games. When 3rd edition rolled around, the studio stated on multiple occasions that while the games had initially been sort of linked, so far as they (the studio) were concerned they were now two separate universes, and any similarities were just artifacts of the games' roots.

Chaos is still the closest link between the two games, but there are key differences between some of the Gods in the two settings. Most notably with Slaanesh's backstory. By contrast, Orks are a really, really big difference between the two games.

They still throw the odd link in for a bit of fun, but that's all.

there was an extensive thread on the 40k/fantasy worlds a long while back, it went back and forth but the one thing i think that was agreed upon was that the worlds are not connected at all.. but at the same time they are.

They are connected through the warp, 40k weapons have been found in the warhammer world (even as recent as the warriors of chaos book) and some Deamons can crossover into both worlds
