I know everyone's hepped up on 6th edition, but in 4th edition you were allowed to choose which weapon to use in assault. Hence that's why MegaNobz and Ghazkull have stikkbombs. Also pistols added an attack with Power Klaws, hence why a lot of Ork Special Characters like Wazdakka have a pistol, KMB, PK and so on. And bikers used to be able to shot their bike weapons AND another weapon. Oh 4th edition. I still miss you.

He simply stated that unless a ruling in a codex states it, klaws/fists strike at I1.
Boss zag is one of the only real examples though of a model with a klaw type attack striking at initiative.
He just said codex overrules rulebook. Nowhere in the rulebook does it say Powerfists srike at anything other than i1. Nowhere in the codex does it says Ghazzy's powerklaw swings at anything other than i1. Therefore this isn't any over-ruling needed, it was a completely superfluous statement.

Right, but the codex still over rules the rulebook, for a very simple reason, if the rule in the codex says that it changes the RULEBOOKS rule, then it over rules it. Period. All powerklaws go at initiative 1 because the rulebook says they are considered powerfists, and all powerfists go at I1. BUT in the Ork dex, it says that Zagstruks PK attacks on the charge go at his initiative. See there? The codex over rules the rulebook.
Funny that. What were you saying about superfluous statements?

It's not Codex>Rulebook, it's Specific>General, otherwise Power Weapons wouldn't work.

Oh looks its GWAR in walrus form. With that mentality, Orks cant even run either.
Not to mention, the specifics are found in the codices, you know, the ones that trump the rulebook?

KC, agree with ghaz and nobz.
You then have a 700 point unit in a wagon thats just asking to draw fire.
Now, if you run him with MANZ you get no choice for a painboy or banner, so doesent help all that much.
Plus, anything with a power weapon will tear through them before they can klaw stuff to death.
With normal nobz its nice, but slows them down due to SaP.
Which really is a killer to the unit when they are trying to avoid being shot before combat.
However, i used to just run him with burnas in a wagon.
They thin down any power weapon targets for me and ghaz smashes whats left.

Sorry, tis getting late and the brain is shutting down a bit
Ment that running ghaz with nobz is pointless like you said.
You have a huge amount of points in 1 place which will get torn to shred through a mass of shooting.
Not to mention nobds do fine as it is.
Ghaz just adds in overkill or everythings dead before he swings.

Ahh yes, that makes sense But thats pretty much how it happens, its either dead before hand or he adds SO much over kill that now they are sitting in the open like a present. Sure thats a good thing if your in heavy terrain and no LOS for the opponent but that pretty much never happens
