So I know Ghaz is best in a vehicle , since he is slow as a sack of concrete being dragged backwards by a truck. But is he also slow in assault? His Initiative is 4. Does he go at initiative, even though he has a Power Klaw? Or is it mainly for sweeping? Also, run him with nobs in a Battlewagon/trukk or 18 Ard' boys in a Wagon?

And then you ask yourself why would you NOT use his power klaw? Also, no dont stick him in with Nobz, Nobz kick faces in just fine without him, so youd over kill the unit big time, and then they would just be sitting in the open, right where you dont want them to be. Stick Ghaz with boyz or burna boyz, those are the best choices.

Ghaz can also be fun (be a jerk) and put him in a unit of kommandos with Snickrot. He can then be held in reserve with the unit, and appear on any tableedge. Yes, their are downsides, but it is fun and a viable tactic.

This statement makes no sense. Nowhere does the rulebook say anybody swings at anything other than i1 with a power klaw/power fist. The example he gave was from the codex.
To the OP: Does it specifically say in Ghaz's rules anywhere that he swings at i4 with his klaw? Nope? Then he can't. Easy.

Griever, i think you want to read that back mate, it does make sense im affraid.
He simply stated that unless a ruling in a codex states it, klaws/fists strike at I1.
Boss zag is one of the only real examples though of a model with a klaw type attack striking at initiative.

Zaggstrugg counts has having a powerklaw that hits at initiative purely because he has a rule that allows him to do so. (and ONLY on the turn he assaults). Otherwise, Powerfists and Powerklaws ALWAYS hit at initiative 1, regardless of any modifiers.

Ghazzy works best in two ways that I found.
1. Ghaz and 5 to 6 mega nobs stuck in a battlewaggon w/ deffrolla. Keep it an open topped vehicle.
2. Ghaz with snikkrot and 4 kommandos. The kommandos die, Snikkrot maybe lasts a round in close combat. However, the main reason for this, is to bring ghazzy in from the other table edge and kill off those annoying things such as IG long range shooting vehicles, arterillery and other bothersome things that will tear ork mobs apart coming across the field.

Ive seen many people run him with burnas as well. I do the same but with a Waboss (as I nearly never use the big lug) It works out rather nicely. People either try to kill off the boss/Ghaz, or go for the burnas, either way, they pretty much lose. Get clobbered by str10 PK or get sliced to bits by mass power weapons.

It seems obvious. If it's a turn when you don't want to use the Waaagh, or have already used it earlier in the game, you could use grenades when charging a walker so he doesn't kill it on the charge and get shot by enemy heavy weapons on your opponent's turn. Then he switches to the klaw in your opponent's assault phase, kills the walker, consolidates, then moves & assaults something else on your next turn. It's something you'd only do in certain specific situations. Wouldn't come up much but could win you a game by keeping him alive a turn for another assault.

lol, he was talking about Zagstruk.
Zagstruk specifically has a rule that says that he strikes at initiative with a Power Klaw, giving the specific example of when he charges, Furious Charge bonus gives him I4 on the charge with a Power Klaw.
E.g., the rule in the rulebook that says that Power Fists strike at I1 is overruled by the Codex rule which states that Zagstruk strikes at initiative with his Power Klaw.
Ghazghkull has no such special rule for his Power Klaw in the Codex and thus strikes at I1 in accordance with the general rulebook.
here's a nice flowchart:
Power Fist?
Yes-------------------------------No
Codex Rule?----------------- -
Yes, I4------------No
PF at I4----------- PF at I1

He goes at I4 if he chooses to use stikkbombs as Offensive Grenades as a weapon against a vehicle, instead of using the klaw.

Actually, Ghaz still goes at I1 on the charge even when using stikkbombs due to his Slow and Purposeless special rule causing him to take a difficult terrain test.

Again, I wouldnt agree to tell people to stick Ghaz in with Nobz. Nobz smash face incredibly easy on their one, then your stuck with Ghaz in an already pricey unit, that steam rolls 1 unit a turn, and your left in the open. When instead you can split them, nobz in one unit, and Ghaz in another, and steam roll 2 units a turn instead.

I think i agree with KingCracker. I'''m not against it, but a squad of about 8 nobz with lets say coppaz/big choppaz and p-klaws and a BW is guaranteed to ruin some faces... Ghazzy would be overkill since he destroys lots of faces on his own.

Of course you agree with me, I make too much sense not too. Also, if youve got a unit of Ead kickin Nobz here, Ghaz and I dunno, boyz or something, over there, and then a unit of burnas right there......then which lesser evil will your opponent pick? Because chances arnt too good (depending on game size) of blowing them all away in 1 turn, and which ever unit gets to their target, well, they will smash things real good. Rather then simply stunning your BW and taking BOTH Ghaz and the nobz out of action. No thanks.
